Sad news, legendary comedian Bob Newhart has died, he was 94. My favourite thing that he did was Bus Driver Trainer.

When you put it like that, Heaven seems kind of tawdry.

For a man with a six decade plus career, I can't recall ever hearing a single bad thing about him. That's a great legacy to leave, even more so than his two classic sitcoms.

A sad day indeed. Unfortunately we’ve lost way too many of our entertainers this week. When I think of Bob the first thing I always think of is the Newhart finale. To me it’s still the best series finale I’ve ever seen.

As they say here, 94 is a good innings. Still sad, though. At one point The Bob Newhart Show was arguably the best show on TV.

For a man with a six decade plus career, I can't recall ever hearing a single bad thing about him. That's a great legacy to leave, even more so than his two classic sitcoms.

A Dutch actress/singer/comedian has died a few days ago (age 81) and I always like her in the kids TV programmes I watched.
She was known for her good spirit and kindness, and several people who had worked with her commented on her character and sense of humour.
I'm usually not very upset about artists who die of (the complications of) old age but in this particular case I felt a big lump in my throat.
To watch all that on youtube shortly before going to bed was one of my infamously bad decisions.

Not being an American, I’ve only just discovered this sad news on the forum today.

The only thing I’ve seen Bob in this side of the pond is when he played the part of the hilarious Professor Proton (really Arthur Jeffries) in several episodes of the insanely funny American sitcom, “The Big Bang Theory”.

Those episodes reached unique heights in television comedy and are classics by any definition.

I loved his dry, deadpan delivery.

Sad to hear of his passing but he lived a good age.
