I had trouble finding good scenes but Patrick Duffy is 6'2" he is little closer to camera than Don Starr though:

It's still good though. Thanks.

Good research. I would estimate Don Starr was 5'11" or 6' by these images.

Yeah, Jordan's 6 feet tall at most, more likely 5 ' 10" or 5' 11'.

I don't know why this is so interesting but for some reason it is. Thanks @Michelle Stevens

We really are obsessed with Dallas aren't we ;)

The guy in the bar with the two ladies who smacked Mickey must've been 6'6" at least. He was a big man.

Mickey looks so short compared to that guy it reminds me of something W.C. Fields said in a movie: "Is he standing in a hole"?

BTW, is anyone else here a fan of the real old comedy movies with people like W.C. Fields and Laurel & Hardy? I think they're great!

I feel like I’ve seen Jim Davis listed at 6’3” somewhere before. He was close to 70 when Dallas started and was at least the height of Duffy, I thought. He was probably an inch or so shorter at that point than in his early adulthood, although he had great posture before he got sick, so you never know.

They all probably bump their height up I’d imagine in show business, like the 6’8” Hulk Hogan taking on 7’5” Andre the Giant when both were quite a bit shorter than that.

It’s interesting how two guys like Jock and Bobby could essentially be the same height with one looking long and rangy and the other compact. I would have guessed Bobby to be shorter based on his build.

The biggest of the lot must have been McSween's replacement - Ratigan, he must have been 6'8.

Good observation, indeed John William Hoge who played Radigan was very tall.

I don't know why this is so interesting but for some reason it is. Thanks @Michelle Stevens

Indeed we are. I'm glad there are so many knowledgeable fans out there.

Maybe this was the angle Don Starr was playing for. :p I did get Starr's height in metric and I could have merely mixed it up in the conversion.

It's funny you should mention that. When I was 11 years old I convinced my dad to take me to see wrestling and they were the main event.

You might be right that some actors exaggerate their heights. Especially actors in westerns or action adventure movies. Being tall helps give you an intimidating presence on the screen. Clint Eastwood and John Wayne were both 6' 4" so if you're someone the size of Don Starr or Steve Forrest, I could see why you might claim you're a few inches taller than you are.

I did pretty much the same thing at the same age, but the main event was The British Bulldogs vs. the Hart Foundation!

Speaking of John Wayne - have you seen this encounter with a pre-Jock Jim Davis in the movie Big Jake?

go to the 20-minute mark. Jim holds his own as far as presence, but backs down after a while. No way in hell Jock Ewing would have backed down to Jacob McCandles!!

I did pretty much the same thing, but the main event was Bruno Sammartino vs. Big Bill Miller. Antonio Pugliesi teamed with Johnny Valentine (Oswald's daddy) on the undercard.

Bruno and Miller.

Johnny Valentine - Oswald's dad. Note the similar bright-eyed smirk.

I have! I own the DVD. It's been quite awhile since I watched it though and I don't remember the details. I do remember Jim Davis being in it, which I enjoyed. I have several John Wayne movies in my DVD collection. The Who Shot Liberty Valance is very good, and The Shootist is another I like a lot.

Speaking of Dallas actors in movies, have you ever seen Vertigo? A young Barbara Bel Geddes has a major role in that.

I think Morgan Brittany is around 5'3. She looks a little bit shorter than VP in their scenes together.

man, I had no idea Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine's brother was on Dallas. If I'd known I might have watched more of that era of the show!

(it was a hell of a time for t-shirts... why can't I find a better JR t-shirt image from back in the day, not some current 'vintage' version?? The photo attached above is just creepy, ugh.)

I can’t find anything on Rebecca Wentworth. Anyone have any luck?

I´m sure she pulled a Victoria and sent IMDb a certificate of her (fake) height. Anyway she did wear a few bouffants which indicate she wasn´t too tall (I guess)...

PS: Thanks a lot for posting the heights in meters too.
PS 2: Why did Sly seem to be so tall to me? Could she actually be as tall as VP? Maybe J.R. made her wear hyper-high heels...

It is so funny how people seemed shorter or taller based on their character and not reality.
