Being equally fair across the board vs Good use of precious tax dollars.... I wouldn't spend tax dollars funding or fully funding the tuition of children of the wealthy (unless they can prove they've been disinherited). Never mind if those tax dollars are not coming from Joe Public but from corporate taxes, possibly from Wall Street entitites. I'm open to them being allowed to receive scholarships based on academic merit though.
I find that to be a highly reasonable position. I've also heard some progressive argue for a minimum wage tied to the cost of living in every state, vs. a flat rate of $15 across the board.
The details of both plans are negotiable IMO. It's when politicians oppose both plans outright that I have a problem.
All work and no play ...., lol. The status quo seems to me to be those who see the highest office in the land as their personal Mount Everest with nothing left to conquer.
Or they're looking to enrich themselves by being in a position to "help" rich elites. Unfortunately, a politician's public positions doesn't always match their private positions.
