I am surprised that a movie version of Dallas hasn't been produced.
I know that back some years, there was one that would have featured John Travolta as JR
Maybe it is just as well. I don't know if it would be successful

I remember it differently: I think it happened in Part 1 of "John Ewing III", the OG Season 1 Finale, just before a dopey Lucy knocked on his door looking for love... in the wrong places.

ah, I looked back and you’re right! Man, that Dan Ingalls down at Down Home Records didn’t screw around! It’s only a few months after JR hooked Garnet up with the legendary producer and she’s so established on the airwaves that the DJ casually announces her “new single” as if she’s been around for years.

Saw an episode of "Bonanza", "The Medal" (1969)
A young Susan Howard (dark hair) and John Beck played her brother.

Let's not forget that Susan Howard played Mara the very first female Klingon to be seen on the original Star Trek in the episode Day of the Dove. :)

I genuinely hate the idea of a remake, especially the way this one was publicised. I just read a few articles from 2006-2007 and jeez it sounds awful.
Shirley MacLaine, John Travolta, Luke Wilson, Jennifer Lopez, Meg Ryan, Matthew McConaughey, Marcia Cross, Katie Cassidy were all mentioned in just a few articles and the discussion sounds like someone just started throwing names around. I fear had this actually been made it would've been a real compromise on telling a story the original fans wanted to see and making sure the big names were happy, losing a lot of spark.
I'm glad it never happened.

For the record, I enjoy movies from this time but a comparison to Bewitched was made and that was a terrible film.

Agreed. The Bewitched movie was not too good, even though I thought Nicole Kidman was a good casting choice for Samantha

Cliff really was pathetic at times.
Cliff began as character with integrity, but his obsession with the Ewings led him to be pathetic and a a buffoon.
He seemed to regain some dignity and character after Pam left, but by the final season he had reverted.
Maybe , intentionally or not, Cliff represented how a person could become unlikable as a result of greed, vengeance and bitterness

Which is why, given the amount of time that had passed, I don't think his portrayal in Dallas TNT was all that much of a stretch.

Possibly but the TNT Cyntax Dallas made him look like an unfeeling monster.

The scene in the Lorimar Dallas where he ends the feud by meeting with Miss Ellie was such a lovely heart warming moment but obviously Cynthia Cidre never watched that

I much prefer Cliff as he was in the Lorimar Dallas. The TNT continuation is best forgotten.... :)

Maybe JR was JR's Father
and what if...

Jock was Cliff's Father
Jock had a son or daughter with Amanda
Digger had other unseen children
Digger was Katherine's Father
Digger was Gary's Father
Garrison Southwourth had children

Just some far-fetched possibilities LOL
