Delta Burke as Katherine Wentworth

So, I just learned yesterday that Delta Burke had been considered to play Katherine on DALLAS. Yeah, I guess I've been under a rock.

I'm not sure how I feel about this, though. Delta is beautiful, talented, and I love her as Suzanne Sugarbaker, but it's hard to picture her running over Bobby Ewing.

But I could see her counting the Ewing fortune bill by bill.

I can see Delta play Katherine or Mandy Winger as she has the look to suit both roles. Delta certainly had the right bone structure for Dallas. Do we know if Delta was screen-tested opposite Patrick, Victoria or Ken? I've always been curious if secondary actors were screen-tested when Dallas became hugely popular so as not to upset the rhythm that was already established.

I haven't a clue. What I read only stated Delta had been offered to play Katherine, but had to turn it down because she was doing the soap parody FILTHY RICH at the time, which died an early death.

Delta was great as vain Suzanne Sugarbaker, but I don't think that she could have pulled off manipulative crazy Katherine like Morgan.
