I just watched that scene that led up to Sue Ellen’s and Mickey’s car crash, but before that, Jr was trying to stop her, but Miss Ellie confronted him. Apparently, I’m not the only one who thinks this, when Miss Ellie jumps in Jr’s face with, “Well, you’ve destroyed her again, will you ever LEARN?!?!” I swear, it looked like she was on the verge of going upside Jr’s head when the scene abruptly ends and goes to Sue Ellen getting into the car.

To this day, I believe they filmed it but decided against airing it. Lol

That would have been silly if she'd hit him. She might have slapped him, but there's a big difference between the two.

Sorry but not in a milion years did Miss Ellie look like she wasgoing to hit JR and when she says Youve destroyed her again she is standing on the stairs

her arms are at her side when she faces him

She should have slapped him a long time ago!

Miss Ellie’s hands may have been at her sides, but anyone who was around in the frontier days could tell you about the sneaky effectiveness of the devastating Southworth Headbutt, originally perfected by Enoch. I see no evidence that she unleashed it on poor JR in this scene, though.

I do remember when I watched that scene the first time that it almost seemed like she was about to slap him stupid but I think that's all the more credit to Barbara Bel Geddes' theatrical skill, rather than they filmed the slap but decided to edit it out.

I've always thought it would have been great melodrama -- the peak of the season -- if she'd smackcd JR and Larry did one of his IDOJ pratfalls into the grandfather clock behind him. It might've even made sense at that point.

But Uncle Lenny would never have permitted it... Pam at the offices? Sure. Sue Ellen toss a drink in his face seconds earlier? Yeah, okay... But he'd never allow Mama Ellie to bitchslap the Alpha Male of Southfork. No way, Jose.

Chances are Ellie used a maneuvere known as the Southworth Shuffle! This involves raising her leg & kicking JR right between the legs on his testimonials! The reason it's called the Shuffle is because the victim shuffle's off in pain, swearing profanities & in dire need of a jock strap! ;) :)
