Just saw this on the news over here in Sweden as well. She's inspired some Swedish singers that were interviewed about her. They were all sad.
I bet she's inspired millions of others too. Also like Angela Channing pointed out. She helped get us out of lockdown and also helped children get a better education.
80 years old doesn't seem that old these days. I don't know for some reason I had expected her to be around for a couple of more years at least. She seemed so vibrant. Full of life. But then again she lost her husband last year. I am sure that must have impacted her negatively.
My sister's got one of her CDs with some greatest hits. So naturally we've heard songs like Jolene.
My favorite though is Whitney Houston's rendition of "I Will Always Love You." Dolly Parton was a fab songwriter.
The world will be a little duller without her that's for sure.
Rest in peace to an icon and my condolances to her family, friends and fans.
