Donald Trump calls Meryl Streep overrated

You are thinking too much into it...

I am sure the animals throwing bricks deluded themselves into the same conclusion..
My analysis is that the Democrats didn't lose because Hillary was not a good enough candidate but because of a wider discontent amongst voters that "the establishment" in general and politicians in particular had failed them for many years. Trump cleverly presented himself as an anti-establishment candidate and that resonated with a large number of disenchanted voters. Any candidate, whether they were from the left or the right, would have found it difficult when people weren't prepared to listen to facts, policies or reality of the situation and instead preferred the simplistic, popularist rhetoric of an "anti-politician". Trump rode an anti-establishment, far right-wing wave that is sweeping across many parts of the world and he did that well.

I'm not convinced that Bernie would have done any better than Hillary because I question whether his campaign had broad enough appeal to attract enough voters that eventually went for Trump.

What the Democrats now have to do is focus a lot more on the needs of their core supporters while still reaching out to Republican voters who will find themselves to be worse off under Trump. This will not be an easy balance to achieve and right now it's difficult to identify a candidate that would be able to do this but I'm sure by 2020 he or she will emerge, probably from a younger generation of Democratic Party candidates.

She is bent out of shape because more people will spend their hard earned money on MMA than one of her crappy movies...

I have really been struggling to think of a single performance that Meryl Streep has given that hasn't been good. Even in films I have hated e.g. August: Osage County, her performance was very good in them. I think she deserves all the awards and plaudits that she has received during her career. Arguably, the best actress in my lifetime.

Or loosing by 77,744 votes in three swing states because you didn't campaign there.

Or electing an inept delusional bully by taking your right to vote and flushing it down the toilet like a piece of crap by voting for an unelectable candidate. I'll grant you, not as direly embarrassing and ridicule-worthy as actually voting for the vulgar unpopular moron, but still humiliating.

He was supposed to lose in a landslide... He was supposed to just give up.. He had no chance at carrying all of the rustbelt states... He will NEVER win Pennsylvania. .

Hillary could spot Trump fifty million votes and still win.

Winning the pop vote is like saying... Hey.. We lost the Super Bowl but at least we had more yards per carry...

It's not as embarrassing as getting caught screwing over the progressive candidate in favor of the neocon war hawk either. Oh, who am I kidding? It's Putin's fault. And Comey's. And people who voted for unelectable candidates that stood on principle. And sexists. And racists. And xenophobes. But it's surely not the fault of corporate Dems who support TPP, Wall Street, and big pharma. I mean, it's not like they screw us over!

So your point is he did indeed lose, but at least it wasn't a landslide? What an achievement. :re: What do you consider losing by 3 million votes? A rousing success?

He was supposed to just give up..
He'll wish that he had by the time it's over. I know you don't know what I mean now, but trust me...someday soon you will.

He had no chance at carrying all of the rustbelt states...
Three of which had a margin of victory of less than 1%. But whatever.

He will NEVER win Pennsylvania. .
Who knew there was such a serious epidemic of batsh!t crazy in one region?

Hillary could spot Trump fifty million votes and still win.
Actually, she could have spotted him 2.8 million votes and still lost, despite still winning the popular vote, which just goes to show how badly the Electoral College sucks.

Winning the pop vote is like saying... Hey.. We lost the Super Bowl but at least we had more yards per carry...
Funny how Trump spouted that the Electoral College was a "disaster for a democracy" until it became the one and only way he won the election. Now he's suddenly its #1 fan.

There goes your intent to focus on Trump now. Months after the elections and you're still droning on about Hillary, Hillary, Hillary... As the fake President more than once said - sad!

And you purposely baited me by saying I should feel humiliated over my vote.

I was also referring to the corruption of the Democratic Party as a whole, which you turn a blind eye too even when I provide specifics. But I'll gladly stop "droning on" about it when you and SueEllenRules! stop bashing everybody that didn't vote for Hillary. Is that going to happen? Of course not. No matter how many specifics I provide, you'll never accept that anybody besides a deplorable or an idiot would vote for Trump. It's not even remotely that simple from my point of view. Democrats that side with the establishment don't care about bad policies or election rigging unless it comes from the other side. They're not phased by neoliberalism. And unless I turn a blind eye to the DNC's rigging of the primaries and focus all of my attention on Russia, Comey, and deplorables, my perspective is not welcome here because it doesn't feed your narrative.

Then again, Hillary didn't have the Kremlin lending a helping hand.
By exposing the DNC's collusion against Bernie? And how did that work out? Oh yeah, Debbie Wasserman Schultz had to resign, Donna Brazile was fired from CNN, and Hillary lost the election. But I'll blame Putin.

Emoji to English translation: I don't have an actual counterpoint.
:bravo: You only neglected to mention blithering idiots.
Like the people who believe "the gold standard" known as TPP is good for American workers.

At least they didn't rig the election.
Except for the Democratic Primary.

Other than that, they didn't do much else except bomb the Middle East, screw poor people out of cheaper medications, and help send jobs overseas.

Baited... Attacked... Yes, ramp up the drama. I have no interest in "baiting" you. Keep turning every single discussion point into blaming the Democrats, for all I care. I simply told you outright what I think about your futile voting gesture as well as your tiresome discussion tendency. You sound like Little Miss "Alternative Facts" (especially in that listing diatribe above).

No, I vehemently disagree with you and, as everyone else, I'm entitled to expressing that.

You're such a phony. Your talking points are always about Russia, bashing Trump and the people who voted for him, and even bashing people who voted third party. How is that not part of a "tiresome discussion tendency?" Just because more people here agree with you than me doesn't make your discussion points any less formulaic. This forum has become a pro-Democratic Party echo chamber, and anything that challenges that is met with condescension and ridicule. My facts are not "alternative," they are simply facts. A simple Google search can confirm them. Keep playing for the blue team, while bashing everybody else that doesn't.

And as for what you think about my "futile voting gesture," I couldn't care less. I gave my vote to the candidate I believed was most deserving of it, and I'm not ashamed of that. I didn't vote for the guy who brags about sexually assaulting women, mocks disabled journalists, uses racist rhetoric against Mexicans, wants to ban Muslims from entering the country, wants to kill the family members of terrorists, and supports repealing Obamacare without an alternative plan in place. I also didn't vote for the woman who was once against gay marriage, who referred to black criminals as "super predators," who never met a war she didn't like, who supported the gutting of welfare in the 90s, who condescends to real progressives, and who bashed Russia for releasing the DNC's emails, yet said we should have tampered with the elections in Palestine back in 2006.

Once I gave up playing for a team, I was no longer blinded by the corruption and bad policies on both sides of the aisle.

No, I vehemently disagree with you and, as everyone else, I'm entitled to expressing that.
And I vehemently disagree with you, but I offer my counter points instead of telling you how tiresome your discussion points are. I also never tried to personally shame you for supporting Hillary.

But if you feel entitled to express you disagreement by ridiculing me on a personal level, I'm more than happy to start returning the favor.

Yes, I'm consistent in the anti-Trump views I express, but that was not the issue. It's your pompous and pointless rejection of both electable candidates. I'm sure it lends itself perfectly in a la-da-deee-da-da-da-daaa land, but in real life it achieves nothing.

And as for what you think about my "futile voting gesture," I couldn't care less.

You certainly seem to be bothered by all of those people you complained about criticizing you over your vote. And if you don't care about what I think, well then don't waste your precious time responding to me. Our lives get shorter by the second.

But if you feel entitled to express you disagreement by ridiculing me on a personal level, I'm more than happy to start returning the favor.

If it'll make you feel better, fire away.

One could argue that it's equally pompous and pointless to reject Trump's Presidency because it won't change anything. But you don't express your views to change the situation, you do so to express how upset you are over the outcome. Expressing my opinion is not going to reform the Democratic or Republican parties, but I still exercise my right to free speech in order to show the contempt I have for them.

All of these "unelectable" third party candidates just might become electable if the people start voting how they want instead of how the media tells them too. People need to learn how to think for themselves. I've been a registered Democrat since I turned 18, but I'm not going to continue voting for candidates that have sold out their values. I vote for most good, not least bad, and let the chips fall where they may.

I obviously would have voted Democrat had Bernie Sanders been the party's nominee, but that's because I vote based on the candidate and not on the party. I guess that makes me an Independent now.

You certainly seem to be bothered by all of those people you complained about criticizing you over your vote. And if you don't care about what I think, well then don't waste your precious time responding to me. Our lives get shorter by the second.
People on the Internet are not going to make me feel ashamed because I voted for Jill Stein. In that sense, I don't care what they think. That said, I'm still going to defend myself against criticisms about my vote.

If it'll make you feel better, fire away.
It wouldn't make me feel better in the least. I just wish I could post here without being ridiculed over my discussion points and my vote.

That was obviously not going to happen 11/8/16.

You delve into life's intricacies and ponder away in great depth and the ultimate solution at the end of the sophisticated thought-provoking process is "let the chips fall where they may". Practical.

People on the Internet are not going to make me feel ashamed because I voted for Jill Stein. In that sense, I don't care what they think. That said, I'm still going to defend myself against criticisms about my vote.

"That said" indicates a contradiction. If you don't care, you don't care period. Regardless, I'm happy to join you in not caring now.

If only you were one-tenth as outraged by the fact that a foreign government actually managed to successfully determine the outcome of the election. It's absolutely astounding to me that because Bernie got screwed out of the nomination from your point of view, you simply don't give a sh!t that Russia handed the presidency to their candidate of choice. Thank God Bernie has his priorities straight even if some of his supporters have their heads planted firmly where the sun doesn't shine.

Emoji to English translation: I don't have an actual counterpoint.
Actually, the emojis were simply an expression of exasperation because it's entirely pointless to have a counterpoint on this subject since you don't hear it and you don't care. Your rabid contempt for Hillary Clinton is the only thing that matters, despite the fact that her political career is now effectively over. Somehow, she's far more relevant to every discussion than Trump being in bed with Putin ever could be.

Like the people who believe "the gold standard" known as TPP is good for American workers.
More like the people who believe this guy:

Except for the Democratic Primary.
Like a dog with a bone.

Other than that, they didn't do much else except bomb the Middle East, screw poor people out of cheaper medications, and help send jobs overseas.
And yet, they still didn't rig the election, screwing people out of the opportunity to vote them out. But I suppose being deprived of the most basic franchise of a democracy is a small price to pay for more b!tchery about Hillary Clinton.
