Every time I have re-watched the show, and there have been many times! I always love it from season 1 until season 4. In season 4 it feels like the wheels just fall off. It becomes almost unwatchable. Then in season 5 it gets a kick up the ass, it puffs up it's shirt and promises it's going to be an international, jet-set glamour soap with royal intrigues and old Hollywood magic. I watch on and it's amusing and fun enough again, but it never delivers what it had really promised. Season 6, I love. I love because it almost, but not quite, becomes everything that Dynasty should be. It becomes bombastic and is filled with bravado and it looks mostly how it should look. But if you peer round the back you see it's just a façade and it falls down flat come season 7. Ah... Season 7 when Dynasty wrong-headedly decides it's actually Knots Landing. Sometimes I get fooled by it and find my self caught up in Sammy Jo and Steven's Delta woes or the search for Krystina's heart but somewhere along the way I realise I have been tricked and I am not watching Knots Landing, it's just the Carrington's in wooly jumpers! Then season 8 happens and I attempt suicide. Every time! I usually awaken in hospital and someone brings me season 9 and I live again. Even if Dynasty doesn't.
