Emmerdale Episode Discussion

ITV removing Emmerdale omnibus on Sunday morning is a sin. Sky+ has finally proved useful... To ITV I make the sign of The Great Arc!

Swiftly moving on, another excellent week in the Dale's. The ladies of the village have been on winning form. Gabby don't count as 3 legged gutters rats with one eye scurrying around in a godless fevela go about their business with more decorum than Gabby.

Mandy is doing just fine, but one imagines that watching her and Paddy bumping uglies must be like seeing two trains colliding then again and again and again.

Belle is a treasure and has enough to do keeping the demons in her swede in check. She really doesn't need some nobody jumping up in her grille, that'll be Tom.

So Amelia is trying to earn her on bread, good for her. If Sarah was actually her bezzie chum she should guide Amelia to the epiphany waiting for our Amelia that to earn beaucoup coin on the Internet...she's gonna have to glide into some Jimmy Choo knocking shop heels and Andrea True it up.

Leyla the Blow Monster... turned over by Caleb, sucking up David's noise, the hypocritical oaf that he is, and that fool Jacob she worries about... why? All of that going on plus the wardrobe fail by wearing that red floral dress in the rubber dub... the Monster has earned her weight.

Chas and Charity standing sentinel over Caleb while he's mind is on standby mode and a machine breathing for almost corpse on the bed. Welcoming Nicky into 'Dingledom'. The whole Gabby thing is entry level by Dingle standards.

Finally, were is Dawn? Is she back turning tricks?

Poor Amelia is trying to earn her own money using the tools of her era, but now a dirty old man

has pitched up in her sphere. Noah jumping to her defence called her trolls "weirdos and perverts"... that's the gold right there. The whole Chloe thing he did...all forgotten about by our Noah.

Is Jai being a bit ungrateful. Rishi adopted him, raised him and afforded him a good life. Rishi didn't have to do any of that.

Now Victoria has only gone and rumbled that Wendy is the good doctor's sly squeeze. All while Bob's wants to sly squeeze Bernice!

Usual convoluted nonsense that makes Emmerdale the best soap opera ever.

Mackenzie is a dog. If the man had any honour at all, he'd get a service revolver and say "bye bye". The whole surprise sibling thing that blessed 'Dale with the strangler looking but extremely fertile Chole was soap gold moment.

Charity is a hooker on sabbatical, thief, con artist, cheating rat, bad mother by her own admission, work shy, jailbird and Dingle cutthroat. She deserves sooooo much better than that dog Mackenzie and greasy Kerry's offspring. The offspring should leave with only her shadow in tow!

Emmerdale is some contrived nonsense. Best soap ever.

This is the thing with Charity and why she is so popular after over twenty years in the soap, she’s a mess but a lovable mess.

What I find utterly bizarre about this storyline is that it’s obvious that Mack isn’t even in love with Chloe (who would she’s dull as dishwater)

When Charity pitched up on Emmerdale I really didn't like her (the caveat being I started watching when Emma Atkins was on maternity leave). It took sometime for me to warm to her. Now our Charity is one of my favourite ladies up there in the dales. If one looks past the nonchalant attitude that's her public facing facade there is a beautiful soul waiting. Mackenzie knowing her history really worked a number on her. The man's a hound with no honour. That said when they recently done bumped uglies and the camera panned to that erupting volcano... that's the gold right there.

Chloe brings nothing to the party, I'm saying that if she's buying into our Mack's guff she is challenging Gabby for the accolade of village idiot.

Emmerdale weave up magic something special. Best soap ever! Don't get me started on that crook Victor, we'll be here all day!:laugh1:

Charity is brilliant, Emma Atkins always brings it every-time in her performance, even right now when the scripts have never been dire and more boring she’s still entertaining.

Mack is a dog and really deserves the rubbish coming his way.

Chloe is probably the stupidest person on the planet if she believes Mack loves her :-D

Amen to that! I absolutely love the way Emma Atkins uses her eyes to express what she's saying without speaking. Charity's big mistake was lowering her defenses and letting Mack into her life. Feral dogs scavenging in the ditches of the worse shanty towns on the planet are still several tiers above Mackenzie in social standing.

Our Chloe ain't never gonna bother MENSA. Dumb as a bag of spuds she is. My I suggest that Gabby, who was fished in and batted off by Jamie, only to then lap up Nicky's garbage and paper thin lies... then is surprised and upset that she was mugged off. Then our Gabby tries to pounce on Billy! Billy is defiling Dawn who is only the best soap brass ever... Gabby still tried to jump on the man... Gabby is not a bright spark.

Emmerdale is some unhinged nonsense, Best soap opera ever!

Absolutely LOATHE Charity although not a huge fan of Chloe. I suppose you are likely to end up with someone highly unsuitable if you limit your choice of partner to people who live within 50 yards of your own front door.

Absolutely brilliant episodes this week. The crash and 'Mack's Choice' was gripping and the look on Chloe's face when Mack grabbed Charity gave me chills.

From Nottingham Evening Post & TV Times
(Saturday 21st January 1989).

Nearly 35 years ago, viewers were labelling Emmerdale "a load of misery", and begged for more "happier goings-on"...

Some things never change...

It's a "drama" serial... therefore it's bound to have "drama"!

I find 'Dale to be a lot of things but calling it a "load of misery" is silly. Emmerdale has weighty storylines and balances them with hilarious nonsense.

Yep, Mack still loves Charity, Chloe’s face said it all “I’m second best”
Chloe's expression was priceless... it took her going over a cliff to an uncertain future when an unstoppable force would meet an immovable object. Car hits rock and now Chloe's wiser for it.

Lydia’s tape story has been great in that the actress has been outstanding, but I felt last week was a stretch too far with the Dingle episodes on who killed Craig. I’m glad that part is done. I’m also not keen on Tracey with Caleb, can they take a break form creating stories around two characters cheating?

I have enjoyed Aaron’s return and I everything that happens in Home Farm.
