Who did you listen to most during 2016?

(It does not have to be current artists. If you listened to a whole lotta Elvis this year, then list him!)

I go through phases where I listen to an artist intensively for a few weeks or months and then move onto the next. Phases this year, most of them revisits, have included:

  • Anne Murray
  • Linda Ronstadt
  • Heather Headley
  • Russell Watson
  • Jessica Mauboy
  • Mica Paris
  • Barry Manilow
  • Elvis Presley
  • Wynonna Judd
  • Diana Ross
  • Idina Menzel

In addition, some of my favourite artists continue to get consistent regular plays:

  • Tina Arena
  • ABBA
  • Carpenters
  • Marcia Hines
  • Shirley Bassey
  • Donna Summer
I haven't listened to very much of Shirley or Donna this year compared with previous years, though.

But only one artist continues to be played on a daily basis; to dominate my Favourites, Top 25 and Recently Played playlists; and to be buzzing round my head even when I'm not playing music:

  • Martina McBride
