Billy Chinnock won the Daytime Emmy for Musical Composition and Direction for it in 1986.

I also just read billy chinnock did a duet with Roberta flack called hold on to love which was also used as a theme song for guiding light.

I love this song. It’s so 80s rock. I also love that it has all three mccleary brothers in the video.

When Texas joined the P&G "let's change the theme music" party

Was there an unwritten rule in the 80’s that your opening had to have a clip of at least one character crooning into a mic?

This was my favorite version of the GL theme. It had such an iconic sound to it. Much preferred it over the earlier versions.

I never thought about this but now that you mentioned it I guess it was pretty common. Danny on Y&R comes to mind as well. I’m sure there were others.

Someone did this "All My Classmates" intro some 18 years ago. I've always thought it was so neat.
