What were your favorites of the year?

American Horror Story season 4 was my unexpected gem of 2016.

The Affair is my new favourite thing. And Fleabag was brilliant. And The Walking Dead, which I finally started watching this year, has turned out to be much, much better than I was expecting. I can't remember if I started watching Rectify this year or the end of last, but that's a very powerful, moving series.

My standout series this year was Bloodline. Watched season 1 & 2 and am eagerly awaiting the 3rd and final season in May.

And The Walking Dead, which I finally started watching this year, has turned out to be much, much better than I was expecting.

I didn't think I would enjoy a zombies series, but I loved the first three seasons.

My favorite 2016 series was definitely FX's incredible 'The People Vs. OJ Simpson'.

The other 'American Crime' series, which came back for season 2 on ABC, was also outstanding.

Finally, what a pleasant surprise when the 4th season of 'Bates Motel' finally got down to its gritty business.

The People Vs OJ Simpson was really a stand out show for me. I loved it all from start to finish and was sad to see it end. The second best show I think was The Crown. It had a great cast and excellent production.

I forgot to add 11.22.63, a WB mini-series for Hulu based on the Stephen King novel. I really, really loved it. Definitely a highlight of 2016. The tone and the production values were great and so was James Franco.

[Canon]

Not a drama, but the ESPN documentary miniseries, O.J.: Made in America was probably the most impressive thing to play on my TV in 2016. It's about 500 hours long, but I didn't feel a second of it.

A must for anyone who enjoyed American Crime Story: The People v. O. J. Simpson.

I liked the new Criminal Minds spinoff Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
