Tina Louise is a solid character actor. She’s really good as Ginger, who is so different from the characters she played in Dallas and The Stepford Wives. I can understand why she has gotten annoyed that her talent and range weren’t recognized.
Totally agree. Ginger is the actress, the beauty, the humour, the seductress etc. That character is completely separate from the actress portraying her. Tina Louise playing Ginger Grant is not Tina Louise playing herself, and the frustration that likely came from being constantly mischaracterised, and from people not wanting to see her as anything beyond that role, must have been unbearable for a woman who wanted to be appreciated for her range and versatility.
