I worked for a company back in the 1990s/early 2000s that gave really swell Christmas parties for the employees (to make up for the lousy way we were treated the rest of the year? 
). They always had a pretty good haul of door prizes, and three of the four years I worked there I got some of the biggest/most valuable prizes of the lot. It was all so random (we drew numbers out of a bowl) that I still wonder how I managed to luck out so many times. One year I got a $200 Home Depot gift card. Another year I got a Dyson vacuum cleaner (maybe they knew how much I hate to clean?), and the fourth (final) year I worked there I got a VCR. Even the 'not-so-lucky' year I got an electric blanket. The others were probably glad I quit, because I was hogging all the better door prizes.

A puzzle, instead of the trip to Disneyworld Florida which I had expected to win because I knew my drawing had to be the most beautiful.
Apart from not going to America, I couldn't stand the thought that some other kid would go in my place. But maybe no-one actually won the prize - I hope not!
Needless to say, I threw the stupid puzzle away.

I won a book called Haunted Kids in a third grade class lottery drawing. I lost the book a few years later and then bought it again at a used bookstore. I have also won the measly few dollar amounts on scratch off lottery tickets. Oh yeah, and I also won some jolly ranchers candy in a first grade classroom spelling contest.
At work I won 2 tickets of my choice to a concert at Darien Lake in a drawing.
I have won quite a bit of money at the Casino's but I have put more in than I have actually won so I guess it doesn't count....
I was the first caller on a radio give away name that song and I won an album...can't even remember the name of the album now.
That must be all cause it I had ever won something really big I think I would remember it?
