Yes, I was blissfully ignorant in those days as well. There are so many things I would do differently now if given the chance, so many mistakes I wish I could undo. But unfortunately I guess we can’t go back. It’s quite a let down, isn’t it? I thought I was gonna be rich and famous one day but that obviously didn’t happen. And if you told me back then I’d be content doing what I’m doing I would’ve laughed at you. Life took me in the complete opposite direction I expected as it often does. Makes total sense. The person who hired me in 1998 is now retired and his daughter, who was a year old back then, is now 25 and working with me. Every time I look at her I just can’t believe where the time has gone. I often tell her how old she makes me feel but she just laughs and tells me I’m not old at all. I told her recently how I’d like to retire after my 25th anniversary in June of 2023, to which she replied that if that ever happened she’d just hunt me down and drive over me with her truck so I might as well just stay. So maybe being old isn’t so bad.
