I had one start to grown in my Poinsettia pot last Winter that was later replanted outside. My Mother brings some in to winter-over. My paternal Grandmother would have them indoor all year round, that's how I know of them. Maybe dampness if a factor in their longevity. Do you bring in any flowers to winter-over? That's about the same here. Usually by Halloween we have had out first frost. Indeed! You and your fellow countrymen were so lucky to have had her for so long. He's up for re-election next month and I think it has something to do with his domestic policy on fuel production and how it's less expensive in Brazil and how heavily taxed fuel is in the UK and Europe as a whole. Of course you in Europe get more social programs from the taxes. It's a big government, small government argument. We have that here in the US. Fuel is more expensive in California or Hawaii than in Georgia or Missouri. At least that's how I took this. I did what I could to win their freedom. I had to do something. I don't know. A little love and attention they could have sold for at least the asking discount price than surely heading to the bin. I had to capture the scene to remember where they came from. The mealybugs really made them unsellable. I took them to the basement sink and washed them off as good as I could. No one would by a plant with pest on them, except me. :yikey: I saw them on Sunday in quarantine and they looked okay. Still wilted but their roots are green which is good. Sunbeam has damage on her leaves but I am hopeful. Trooper is in better condition. Both have to be repotted when they get more hydrated to rid them them mealybugs that may have gone into their media. They surely do. It could have been May or June since Sunbeam had her last watering. I'm taking it slow with them not to shock them. Just some gentle care and love. I'm optimistic. I didn't see any areas to get too alarmed over. I'll see them this weekend. Now for another orchid story and this crazy orchid maniac that I have become. I went to the grocery store which always had orchids and there were no signs of my flower lady. I go in early so I do miss her from time to time. I noticed in the rear of the store four discount orchids in the "Last Chance" shelf. 75% off, $6.24 so I had to get two.
