TOS Kahn miniseries?

Reports are suggesting that Nicholas Meyer is working on a miniseries that would fill in the story of Khan Noonien Singh between "Space Seed" and The Wrath of Kahn.

While Meyer's involvement would probably ensure a well-made show in the technical sense, my first thought was: "I've already read this story in the novel To Reign in Hell".

My second thought was: "Prequel! Noooo!"

I caught a headline on this a few weeks back but forgot all about it until I say this post. I'm not sure if I will be interested.

I'm not a big fan of focusing on one particular character and even less when it's about someone so far back in the story that they are irrelevant to the now.

Who Kahn?

Kahn was the "augmented" 20th century superhuman who was defrosted in the original series episode "Space Seed" who went on to be the villain of the eponymously titled Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn. An alternate-timeline version appeared in the more recent Star Trek Into Darkness.

I'm not a big fan of focusing on one particular character and even less when it's about someone so far back in the story that they are irrelevant to the now.

I think that sort of story is really more suited to the novels or comics and, as I said, it's already been done.
