Where did you hear that? Nothing mentioned anywhere from what I can see and would definitely go against the semi official news that all music rights issues have been solved.****** only the first three seasons due to music copyright *****

I thought the same when I saw the covers !!!!it's the same covers of the dvds he sells on EbayAs an aside, weren't those thumbnails Plex uses for each of the seasons (from 3-14) originally fan-made DVD covers created by a forum member? (Gregory Sumner?) I'm pretty sure I saw these when we had a thread about it on the old site.
wait and see, if the music rights have never been involved , I wonder why it took so long to see Knots on a platform or dvd or a rerun ! would really know the real reason because Knots have many many fansWhere did you hear that? EDIT: This information is categorically incorrect. Listings on Plex already go to season 4 episode 10.

Plex collects information from all over the internet. Nothing of what you see on Plex comes from WB, the actual WB channels aside.I thought the same when I saw the covers !!!!it's the same covers of the dvds he sells on Ebay
As I said above, listings for season 4 are already available, airing on August 16.wait and see, if the music rights have never been involved , I wonder why it took so long to see Knots on a platform or dvd or a rerun ! would really know the real reason because Knots have many many fans
No sign of it in Australia as yet. If it were to appear on one of the catch-up services that would be ideal.Rumours suggest that Knots is now officially on offer for third party services so hopefully a few will acquire the on-demand streaming rights.
Freevee is Amazon, isn't it? Don't know why Amazon here doesn't have it. Purchase to stream on Prime would be okay if it comes to that.My hope is that this is just the start and at the very least it'll become available for purchase via streaming. That is what typically happens in these cases.
Not enough.wait and see, if the music rights have never been involved , I wonder why it took so long to see Knots on a platform or dvd or a rerun ! would really know the real reason because Knots have many many fans
Yes. I'm not sure why it's branded differently, but it is Amazon. I've heard they're going to rebrand it and just envelope it into the main prime platform. No sign of it in Australia as yet. If it were to appear on one of the catch-up services that would be ideal.

There's a guy on FB who leads KL groups, he posted that info yesterday, saying he received an e-mail from legal:Where did you hear that? Nothing mentioned anywhere from what I can see and would definitely go against the semi official news that all music rights issues have been solved.

As for the talk of music rights, I really doubt that was the reason for the hold up. Yes there is music here and there, but when you look at the shows that were held up because of music (many having the soundtrack replaced), it was shows that featured multiple popular songs in EVER episode. Even then, they were able to work out releases for some of those other shows. I think with Knots it was simply those first two DVDs not selling as well as they'd wanted and they stopped releasing them.
PlexTV isn’t responsible for whatever goes on WBD’s FAST channels. They simply have a contract to add those channels to their lineup. There's a guy on FB who leads KL groups, he posted that info yesterday, saying he received an e-mail from legal:
"I wanted to inform you that due to music rights restrictions, PlexTV will only be able to air the first 53 episodes of “Knots Landing”. Unfortunately, the rights issues prevent us from making the full series available at this time.
We understand that this may be disappointing for fans of the show. Please rest assured that we are working to resolve this and explore all possible options to secure the rights for the remaining episodes.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support."
I guess they settled the music rights in a day.
Thank you. I didn’t know that there actually never had been any issues re music rights but I knew that since earlier this year it was clear that any problems had been resolved. I know which sources I can trust and the person who told me Knots Landing, like all others, is now cleared for streaming.Music rights for "Knots Landing" were never an issue. I don't know how many times I said that, but it's an urban myth that was apparently created by people who didn't want to realize that "Knots Landing" was very weak in sales beyond the original U.S. market. It never came anywhere near the international success of "Dallas", "Falcon Crest" and "Dynasty", so Warner Bros. simply did not care about the show for a long time. Pure and simple. The very poor DVD sales of seasons 1 and 2 showed that the show does not have enough following to justify a release on physical discs — if we like that or not, that's the truth.
I never understood why the "music rights" myth was copied and copied and copied and spread all over the web in the last few years. But it's typical of the internet. Things do not become true or correct just by repeating them over and over again.
However, a few months ago, Warner Bros. commissioned an entertainment lawyer to double-check if all rights have been cleared for the upcoming releases of many of their old Lorimar library products, including "Knots Landing", "Falcon Crest" and "Flamingo Road" (also because they wanted to be on the safe side for future HD releases, which are expensive for the studio). The result was no surprise: no problems, and nothing to be cleared, of course! I know this contradicts what was quoted above, but it only makes sense since, as I said, music rights were never an obstacle.
I get that. That's why that "e-mail" felt so strange + they didn't know Knots was also on FreeveePlexTV isn’t responsible for whatever goes on WBD’s FAST channels. They simply have a contract to add those channels to their lineup.
Primetime Soaps by WB is owned and programmed by WBD. It’s a non-exclusive FAST channel which is also available on Freevee and others.
Those who later offered you their bootleg version of the show also relied heavily on that myth.it's an urban myth that was apparently created by people who didn't want to realize that "Knots Landing" was very weak in sales beyond the original U.S. market.
I agree, it’s very strange!I get that. That's why that "e-mail" felt so strange + they didn't know Knots was also on Freevee

I agree! I'm just so happy that Knots is finally out! And I hope that TUBI will have that same FAST channel soon, since, most of the things from fast channels on TUBI are on demand too.I agree, it’s very strange!
Also, it’s not Knots that’s on Plex and Freevee. Neither have bought the streaming rights but rather both have a contract with WBD to offer WBD’s suite of FAST channels in their “Live TV” section. So in effect no different to a cable or satellite provider.
In regards to WB's old products, do you think that the Midnight Caller with Gary Cole will eventually become available? Many use the “music rights” excuse for that show too. However, a few months ago, Warner Bros. commissioned an entertainment lawyer to double-check if all rights have been cleared for the upcoming releases of many of their old Lorimar library products
Great if true. How do you know about this WB legal clearance?Music rights for "Knots Landing" were never an issue. Just FYI, WB’s listings for Knots now go well into season 5. I think it’s therefore safe to say that “the email” was wrong or never existed in the first place.View attachment 54148
