EPISODE 5: THERE ARE SMILES The Paige stuff is fun. While Paige claims that Peter walked out of their argument after they made up, we see that Paige is responsible for the accident that killed Peter. Soon after, Paige comes clean to Mac and he not only makes her confess, but he finally acts like a parent and forces her to apologize, even if Paige clearly is putting on an act. Her feud with Abby is made of soapy excitingness, and I hope they follow through with Abby's desire to make Paige pay. Al's presence pays off majorly when both he and Lilimae discuss with Mac and Val what they read about smile therapy and then their fates collide when they meet at the cul-de-sac. Love for Lilimae? I think so. (DON'T tell me!). Val compensates with Ben's leaving by buying a fancy sports car and getting a horrible haircut that everyone in the cast has to say is beautiful. It's actually pretty hilarious stuff. She also calls the twins Gary's kids for the first time, something I'm sure will lead to hell. I think Jill also gets a haircut, but it makes her look more beautiful than ever. She and Gary fight, break up, make up, kiss, whatever. In the most fantastic Laura way ever, Laura tells Greg that she's dying. I knew it was coming, and yet... Damn you, KL -- tugging at the heartstrings with no mercy whatsoever. DDD
