Living in the Cul-de-Sac: Season 9 for the First Time

You can in moments like when Val is the only one who ever finds Gary's silly jokes funny. To my surprise, Jill returns to the ranch, having regretted leaving Gary. I guess she realized that with Greg otherwise occupied and Peter dead, she had to justify her credit in <em>some</em> way.</p><p></p><p>Jody shows up for a minute and tells Michael disgusting things like, "this is the best Christmas party I’ve ever been to… because I’m with you." Barf. Hiss.</p><p></p><p>It’s all about art with Greg as he silently deals with Laura's death by investing in art and avoiding Meg. He also subtly flirts with Paige. I don’t know what it is about Nicollette Sheridan but she seemed much more natural and relaxed than she’s ever been before.</p><p></p><p>Mac and Karen share some sweet comedy regarding mistletoe and a trip to Tahiti, until Mac drops off Meg, claiming he has business in New York. I don’t believe him for a minute. Mac is overjoyed to have Meg for a few days.</p><p></p><p>The Charles story grates so much. It’s things like Gary acting as if Abby told him about Charles and how he broke her heart or the horrible, unbelievable casting of the character itself that completely make the storyline dead on arrival. Granted, Gary's reaction to realizing who Charles is was beyond hilarious: Shackelford’s face is priceless and he’s never been righter when he says, "<em>That’s</em> Charles? I need to take another look!" We did, Gary, and it didn’t make it any better. That being said, Abby and Charles’ roadside tiff was fun, although it was ruined by the sight of them making love. Yuck. I don’t think anyone ever asked to see Abby acting like a silly teenager.</p><p></p><p>DDD</p></blockquote><p></p>
