Bat Out of Hell was such an iconic album that completely dominated the album charts in the 1980s. Whereas most popular albums would have a chart run of about 10 weeks, Bat Out of Hell remained in the UK charts for 10 YEARS. Not just a talented singer-songwriter, Meatloaf was also a pretty good actor. A true talent has left us.

I heard about this on the morning news. My first thought was, didn't he die last year?
Then I remembered it was his friend and song writer Jim Steinman who had passed last year. Hopefully they are now able to see each other in heaven.

Yes, he was great.

I actually went to see " Bat out of Hell - the musical" at the Manchester Opera house at the end of last year.

By all accounts, he died from COVID.

I'm not sure whether he'd been vaccinated or not.

I was gutted when I heard the news on Friday morning. BAT OUT OF HELL has been a part of my life since I was 11 years old and so many other great albums from Meat Loaf over the years.

This question has been going on since the song was released in the early 90s and I've never understood why.


Asking what it is he won't do is answered in the song.





All the way through the song he is saying what he will do for love and then at the end he is saying what he won't do.

His girlfriend is saying that he's likely to cheat on her.

I can't confess to being a fan in any meaningful way, but I do know his big hitters, and acknowledge that he was good at what he did.
A stalwart of the entertainment industry. Seems appropriate to note his passing.

PS, his cameo in Spiceworld The Movie just worked. Good movie.

1stly i love Jim Steiman it broke my heart that he died i know he was what in his 70's ? but he had been sick a long time even before covid i believe with Meatloaf i think he was antivax and i think had he took it seriously and got the shots and such he'd still be alive, after he died i found out he didn't give a shit weather he died or not from it just as long as he didn't have get the shot or wear a mask. yeah so he pretty much killed himself i love the guy's music don't get me wrong but he lost my respect in that regard i'm still gonna jam to it though but as a human being he's lost my respect i only hope that his kids don't think like him
