I haven't heard or seen Harry or Meghan in print or on the news this past week. Is there something else going on in the world the media are salivating over? I'm hearing the word coronavirus mentioned many times. Also making NEWS. Prince William and Kate attend the opening of an envelope...I mean the BAFTAs. Funny how this couple have stepped out from the confines of Kensington Palace since Harry and Meghan have bolted.

Thanks for sharing. Maybe it's just me, but I think you can definitely see a family resemblance in the way Meghan and her sister look. There's something around the eyes.
It's sad how Meghan's had such a fall out with her dad's side of the family though that their only way to communicate with her is through the media.

Maybe some men who have no idea about the physical, emotional and psychological trauma that having a miscarriage involves may claim that. However, many more women who have been through a miscarriage have said how much Meghan's words described what they also have gone through, praised her openness and stated how much it helped them and will help others in the future.

How syrupy! That's like saying no one lies about rape because rape is unpleasant... Some men -- and some women -- also realize what a diagnosable narcissist that The Duchess of Success really is.

And she and Harry are in a conspiracy with the hospital to fake her medical records? Why didn't anyone question when Zara Tindall had a miscarriage?

I would suggest that Zoe Clark-Coates, founder and chief executive of baby loss and bereavement charity the Mariposa Trust, who has spoken with many thousands of women who have suffered miscarriage, knows a lot more about this subject that the Meghan haters who sit behind their keyboards looking for any excuse to attack her. Ms Clark-Coates said "I think (Meghan's) choice of words are just so heart-breaking that anybody that has gone through it is instantly taken back to the time they've gone through the loss. Anybody who hasn't gone through it is kind of given a real insight into behind the curtain that you wouldn't normally get to see and when it comes from a Royal it add a whole other weight to it."

Ms Clark-Coates has had 5 miscarriages herself. Who is more credible? Anonymous keyboard warriors or an authority on miscarriage who has a lot of personal experience of the subject?

Ms Clark-Coates went on to say “I think (Meghan) is absolutely right, there is a taboo still. And there is a taboo talking about all death and all loss, we’re just not great as a culture talking about things that make us sad or really open us up emotionally.” I think what's also sad is that people think it's acceptable to use the tragedy of losing a baby as another excuse to criticise Meghan.

I don’t like the way that the exodus from the Royal Family was handled by Meghan and Harry (and let’s not forget that he was as much a part of this as her) but the article about her miscarriage made for a sad read that I have no doubt resonated with lots of couples all over the world. It’s not just the expectant mother’s loss but also the father’s and the article ensured that was acknowledged.

I’m reading Fighting for Freedom at the minute and if anything, Meghan is portrayed as really lovely, wanting to make a difference, although obviously not suited to the royal way of life (which I knew from the minute I knew a bit more about her.)

At this time I will take her over Kate any day - a woman with no ambition who is willing just to live a life through her husband, being the shadow. I do think some of her work is admirable but I cannot get my head round someone who is just willing to put royal duty first ahead of her own life and parents, siblings, not being herself but being a royal robot.

I don’t include the Queen in that assessment as she was born to it, she didn’t have much of a choice. Kate did. It’s the 21st century not 1556. There’s just something about her that doesn’t sit well with me.

Time will tell I suppose, but for now I remain quite positive about Meghan. If Charles and Camilla can do what they like and get away with it, hurting people in the process, why is the focus on Meghan and Harry?

Great post. Is the book called Finding Freedom? I read it a few months ago and it just confirmed what I always thought which is that Harry and Meghan were right to get away from the Royal Family. I think the family are toxic. Regarding Kate, I'm sure she is a lovely woman but my word she's bland. She's also workshy. Never did a days work before she married William and really hasn't changed that much since. Last year she carried out 126 Royal engagements (and most of them were going to the theatre, ballet, Wimbledon etc.). Contrast that with The Queen who did 295, Charles who did 521 and Anne who did 506.

Like you, I would chose Meghan over Kate every day of the week.

You could replace Kate with a cardboard cut out and no one would notice especially as it would have more original ideas and intelligence than she would.

You say Kate isn't "victimy", I say she craves the Royal lifestyle so much that she won't rock the boat even if that means tolerating Prince William cheating on her. I can't imagine Meghan putting up with Harry having an affair with another woman. You might consider that "victimy", I call it being sensible.

It's a good book because it gives a different perspective of their lives and it makes you realise that most of what we read about them in the media tells only one side of their story and often with the most negative spin on it.
