Most Promising First Appearance

Over the years, Knots Landing introduced several new characters that fans had grown to love (or not). Which character did you have a good feeling about from the start, and who were you looking forward to seeing more of? Was it one of the long-lasting characters from the poll, or someone who didn't stick around long, perhaps because their initial promise wasn't fulfilled?

 

[Laura Avery-Sumner]

I think Joshua. Even though we didn't know exactly who he was at the beginning, he was so sweet and easy on the eyes that it didn't matter a lot. I t was nice to see it develop into a story for Lilimae and the writers did a great job of incorporating him right into the mix. Watching him become a monster was very unexpected as well. I hated Alec Baldwin for a long time after KL. I guess that speaks to the material he was given and the way he crafted it.

Certain scenes in Paige's first episodes made me feel very optimistic about this character, even more so because it was the more traditional soap character introduction.
Jill and Ben were also great from the very beginning but it felt less high-stakes and it would have been easier to get rid of these characters in case it didn't work out.

 

[Stillwitty]

Season 4, E. 1: Mack and Karen have their first fiery meeting and the chemistry just sizzled from the moment she burst in his office and he made eye contact. Who didn't know those two would end up together? Never seen two actors who had never worked together before have such instant chemistry...

I voted for Joshua. Mysterious and fragile.
