Same episode. JR is a throwback to 1980s when he thinks Cally slept with Barton and how he deals with the committee

Could have been a cliffhanger!!!

Cally has only taken an OD!

I am on tenterhooks. Gonna watch the next one now. Great season!!!!

There are a few things that I really liked about season 13:

Cliff has a battle of conscience at Digger's grave before the committee's final decision on the tanker collision. The captain of the Ewing tanker commits suicide.
Rose tells her husband Carter McKay that he made her feel like a whore.
This is one of the times where the main characters actually realize how much their actions hurt others. There seems to be a little more background behind the supporting characters and we feel it more when bad things happen to them because of the feud.

Also

April wants to leave Dallas and start fresh somewhere else.
I'm glad they explored this because I've never understood why people don't just LEAVE.

I mean, you have plenty of money. Just pack up and get out, use your money to start a business somewhere else, or just lay on a beach somewhere.

I feel like yelling at my TV, "Why are you sticking around?"

Agreed. This season April still tries to convince Bobby to love her, even though she flew to Europe to meet him. If JR was in Bobby's situation (Kay and Jeanne) we would call him a bastard....

'The Lovely Michelle'
Go on. ..you are doing mighty fine (don't forget season 13- the reason originally for this thread lol)

It's been some time since I've watched season 13 to give my deepest insights but you bring up many highlights.

Cally realising/thinking JR is having an affair with Michelle is a masterpiece

Indeed it was as Michelle played along.

They are trying to now make Michelle a bitch ala Alexis but she just comes across unlikeable and a turncoat on a penny. She's got more faces than a Swiss cuckoo clock factory

True, but she knows what she wants.

Watching Cally on a hot tin roof.. ...how did they decide Bobby and Kay should not be together?????

I liked Kay too. Bobby should have looked her up post-1991.

Just me then?.....

No.

I like this season a lot.

I loved the Murder, She Wrote storyline for Miss Ellie & Clayton. The Tanker collision storyline was good too! I cried at the scene with Bobby & Cliff when Bobby told Cliff they were bound together because of family, a reference of course to the long gone Pamela Barnes Ewing.

In addition, this season uses my favourite arrangement of the Jerrold Immel Dallas theme music. :)

Everything from seasons 9-14 is pretty much just a blur of crap in my memory, but I think I might agree that this was one of the less crappy of that blur of crap.

The best thing I can say about season 13 was that it wasn't as bad as season 14. That said, there were a still a few diamonds in the mud.

Although I wasn't a big fan of the "JR Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" storyline, it did contain some really good scenes in how JR developed a respect and friendship with some of his fellow inmates which culminated in season 14 with a really moving scene when he was finally released and had to leave them.

I think that this was the last good Dallas season. :)
The reason for it was mainly that it was the last season that had the Ewing family feeling of the show intact, as Miss Ellie, Clayton and Lucy were still around. The next season without them and also with April dying early on and Cally running away before the season was over there just weren't that many female characters left at all and it became the JR, Bobby & Cliff show. It didn't work. :(

Anyway the things I also liked about season 12 were:
- Bobby & April's relationship.
- The introduction of James and Michelle and them as a couple.
- The Oil Tanker Collision between Ewing Oil and Weststar Storyline
- Cally's flirtation/friendship with Alex Barton
- Cally and John Ross bonding
- Lucy & Cally's friendship
- Looking for oil in Pride, as it tied into the history of the show.

I didn't like it, but the first time I saw it I thought Clayton's friends getting killed off was really scary!

Season 13 (per DVD count) had a number of good ideas: the tanker spill, Jessica's murder spree, Miss Ellie playing detective, etc... -- but the execution just had too many problems.

I wanted to like the season for that reason, but it was hard to get around the tone of lazy camp.

This season was the last season to be really about the Ewing family itself.

As has been noted, Miss Ellie, Clayton & Lucy were still at the ranch.

Once they were absent in the final season the show finally went off the rail road tracks & the train derailed.

The final season is not pretty to watch, too much violence & killings.

Season Thirteen may have it's faults but it's enjoyable to watch. It's still Dallas. :)

I like Rose too. She's simple but the seen where Mack gets her from the salon is fun.

Same episode, when JR asks how Cally got the sleeping pills Lucy looks proper scared and that scene where she admits she gave Cally them the look on JR'S face is priceless.

The banter between them too (JR and Lucy) is classic

The part between Bobby and Kay is from past glories and I like Dave Culver too

Season 13 is ok.
It's ok

My only gripe with this episode Sex,Lies and Videotape is that Mack gets Rose to do the dirty with Cliff.
(This part should also be in my other thread -Missed Opportunities)
Should JR have got someone to sleep with Cliff and have a hold over him ,this is more JR than Mack and with a great Bastard Winning Mode
