There has been plenty of doom & gloom on this forum, so it’s nice to bring some good news.


Medals
The banners we had for various purposes were getting too complicated on the CP, so I have started to change them all over to medals and you can see the full list of medals via the link of the navbar. More medals will be added as and when needed.


Thread Starters
You may have figured this one out. The thread starter's avatar surroundings are pinky-blue and will remain that colour throughout their thread.


Profile Pages

You can now post YouTube videos on a member's profile page


Signature

You can now upload images from your computer for your signature, that means no more 'third party' hosting.


Post Areas

You can find out which forums you post the most in by clicking on the link on your profile page



Original Poster Highlight

This function adds a ribbon on original poster's avatar to highlight the user who started the thread.


Post Ratings

We now have the ratings back. You can view your ratings and the ratings you have given by hovering your cursor over your name at the top of the forums.



View Your Posts

You can view your last 100 posts by clicking on View Your Posts which is situated in the top navigation bar in each of the forums.



History

You can view the history of the last 50 threads you’ve visited by clicking on the History tab in the navigation bar in the forums.



Bookmark

If you want to reply to a particular post but don’t have the time straight away, you can bookmark this post by hitting the Bookmark button at the bottom of each post. Your bookmark list can be viewed in the drop-down menu by hovering your cursor over your forum name at the top of the page.



Birthday Calendar

You can view the calendar by hovering your cursor on the MEMBERS bar at the top of the page. A drop-down menu will appear and click on the ‘Birthday Calendar’ option

Tab Alerts

You will receive alerts on your Soap Chat tab even if you are not viewing the forums - this will only appear for those logged in

Forum Icons

Originally I wanted a specific image for each forum's identity, however, that's proven to be somewhat tricky and will take some time to accomplish. So for now, you have avatars of the last poster from each forum.


Sidebar

Statistics
A more accurate account of the forum statistics

Poll
Will be updated each weekend

Most Posts
A fun box highlighting who has been busy on the forums.

Birthdays
Will appear on that member’s birthday

In addition to some shiny new banners, we have FEATURED THUMBS which is on the main page and randomly picks images from the threads you may post in. When you click the image, you will be redirected to the thread it originated from.

Above the threads, in each forum underneath the page number, you will see a link to My Threads. Click here to find all your threads from that forum. So when you're in doubt over an old thread, here's the place to look.

Those thumbs really grew on me, i love them more and more each day.
Just an example:

Drawn forum characters, Deanna Troi from TNG and maleSammy Jo from nuDynasty.
That perfectly summs up in a blink of the eye, how wide and varied our beloved soapchat board is!

My only niggle is that I am always clicking on the images to see what they're about or where they're from and it can be distracting.

Just click on the current mood (default "No Mood") anywhere you see it under your avatar: next to your posts; at the top of the home page or to the left of the text box when typing a post. The mood chooser options will then pop up.

I'm loving how almost every day when I visit the forums there is something new to appreciate. I really like the new headers when you go into a particular thread and I love how thread titles zoom out when you hover over them.

What happened to the notifications that we used to get in the bottom left of our screens detailing reactions to posts and included the avatar of the person to which it made reference? That seems to have been switched off now and we're back to the previous one which just says "You have x new alerts" or something similar?
