I notice the new forum lay-out today, I take it everybody else has had to log in today from scratch?

We are working on trying to retrieve the forums, however it's not looking good right now.

We may be starting from scratch, but hopefully we may be able to get some of the original data back

I don't mean to take this too lightheartedly, this is a sad day for SoapChat, administrators and contributors.
But maybe we should stop thinking in terms of loss, and focus on new opportunities. Our favourite soaps aren't going anywhere!

Incidentally, if we're going to start a-fresh, would it be possible to have a seperate Peyton Place forum?

i belong to a site that i've been there since (2008) and 2 years ago the same thing happend there. they lost all the data and each person had to start over from scratch and they've been around for i think 10 or 12 years. they never got their posts back we just created new ones. some did what i did just now and created new user names. i got tired of using Stimpy after having it for 11 years. the site also was going to change over to Xenefro anyways. in fact a site i am a Super Mod at just changed over to it as well. but on that we didn't crash in order to do that. i have a feeling we won't get all those old posts back. the site is still here so i'm happy because of that at least.

I don't get this. I had a German forum once as well and stored backups of all content on a daily basis on two different harddrives (in case one broke), so there must be some kind of recent backup here as well?!

And maybe one for some of the others too? 90210, Melrose Place, Party of Five, Flamingo Road, Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill. They all have their followings too and deserve their own section.

I agree. It's very sad but this will be a good test of our little community here. I think we can band together and rebuild.
