No statue, just a mega plaque.

What did you think of Angela's gift of a plaque to Maggie, Vicki, Cole and Kevin, a while after Chase's presumed death in the Bay. The family, friends, other vintners and Reverend Father Curtis (Congretatio.Sancti.Pauli.) all gathered to commemorate Angela's rival around the pool and garden of the Falcon Crest mansion. Old flame Nicole was even watching from afar.

For someone who contributed so much to the wine country and local politics I'd have thought Aunt Angela should have went all out and had a statue created, of the thorn in her side nephew Chase. That way Maggie and Richard would have had to look at the immortal replica of Chase every day. Sounds like an Angela trick, alright. The plaque which read 'Chase Gioberti - you will be missed' was nice but somewhat minimalistic, considering it was provided by a multi millionaire.

Let's remember Chase.

The people who brought the Gioberti family to life. Missing from the collage is Brandon Kasper (infant Kevin).

Angela gives one of her funny yet cutting remarks, at Chase's commemoration just as Richard and Maggie kiss; (a scene from season 7, 1987-'88):

"How sweet! Sharing your memories of Chase."

A statue — an interesting idea for sure...

From the standpoint of production just impossible though because it would have been an expensive prop. Aside from the money Lorimar would have had to spend on creating the prop, reuse of Foxworth's likeness would have necessitated paying him for every episode in which the statue would have been visible. This is standard procedure in the industry. The exact amount needs to be negotiated though. But Foxworth already demanded a lot of money for the few seconds of using those still photographs in the season 7 première in Nicole's townhouse, on Remick's picture from Viet Nam and in the Gioberti House foyer when Nicole grabbed the photo frame shortly after she made her big entrance.

A statue of Chase might initially seem like a good way of honouring the character, however, I think as time went on, it might have been too prominent a feature in the show, like Jock's portrait in Dallas. Maggie's character needed to move on with her new life with Richard and that would have been made more difficult with Chase's likeness looming over the Tuscany Valley as a constant reminder for viewers of her previous marriage.

Would Chase have deserved immortality, as a statue? After all Angela was Falcon Crest. He made his mark, yes. When the business was in the growing years the momentum was provided, from Angela.
