Jacqueline provided more for us after death and I suppose she was the ideal character to say "you are both my sons." Then the season 6 finale twist was shocking but Chase was gone so Richard had to become more prominent.

I didn't dwell on that detail because I didn't think it was relevant in the context discussed here. I do know that the original scene was unfortunately destroyed since I wrote that paragraph for the website myself after I researched the production report that gave away a chemical accident had occurred at the film lab.

My point here was that — since reshooting was the usual thing in such a case (and it happened more often than one would think) — it was a creative decision to drop the scene. There would have been plenty of time for a reshoot if the producing staff had wished to keep the scene because season 7 had started production unusually early in the spring of 1987, without the usual hiatus, to get the first twelve episodes finished before a major strike the Lorimar bosses were afraid of. Since the season première was scheduled for not earlier than late September, they could have easily reshot the segment if they had seen the creative need.

And yet...I wonder if some of Jacqueline's scenes make more sense if you believe she's lying.
She was shocked when she found out that Richard had come to the Valley and the problem mostly focused on her worries for Chase and his family, but maybe not in the way it looked.
No matter how much she had tried to keep the cousins apart perhaps it was better to "reunite them as brothers" than for Chase to find out that she had stolen the baby from Angela and make her believe that Richard had died.
As Richard's "mother" she could still somehow control the narrative. And since Douglas was dead and she herself was dying, no one would ever find out.

I wonder where Peter found that letter. Probably in the fireplace, which is where all of SoapLand's secret documents are kept safe, waiting to be discovered and cause havoc in future plotlines.

Rumors say he found it in his locker at his favorite Greek bathhouse...

In episode 20 of the sixth season, Jane shows Vickie the family cemetery.

A good opportunity to show the grave of her son.
But Douglas's was not there either. He did not remarry. Angela bore her last name and was the father of her children.
She didn't name him in her final speech either.
Apparently Jane didn't like Stephen Elliott. When she met him, she told the producer that she didn't like her physically because he was fat.!!!!

The fact that Douglas' grave was not at the Gioberti Family Cemetery was not an error. It was a deliberate decision because the writing and producing staff had the idea of a Gioberti family habit that — besides Gioberti family members — the only people to be buried at the Family Cemtery are those, who married into the family and fathered or gave birth to another Gioberti, but only if the deceased was still married to a Gioberti family member at the time of his or her death.
They were very consistent all through the seasons with that rule. That's also the reason why Phillip and Linda (alongside Michael Ranson) were buried at the Tuscany Valley Public Cemetery; the same goes for Terry.

I agree that showing Angela's baby's grave would have been a nice addition on the one hand, but it could have been a spoiler on the other hand. Besides, we saw a lot more headstones in season 1 at the Gioberti Family Cemetery, and many of them were not in close-ups, so we never saw the lettering on them. Only queens who have been the mother of kings are buried in the royal pantheon of Spain. The others are in a separate pantheon.
The Giobertis should have done the same. That's why Linda and Philips aren't buried there.

The grave of the dead son would not have been a spoiler but an explanation of Angela's hatred of Richard.
His firstborn died and his descendants are not suitable to inherit Falcon Crest.
