We started this tonight. A strange one that’s entertaining thanks to Sebastian Stan in the role of Tommy Lee. Only two episodes in and it has the makings of a great love story with a hint of silliness. The acting is great, though Tommy’s penis won’t be winning any awards.

I don’t know how realistic the story is, but I heard PA objected to the series.

I had to double check the title of the thread, I almost typed Pam & Bobby.

I do want to see this one. Not sure what to make of it really but I get the feeling it could be highly entertaining at the very least.

my question is why is Disney even having anything to do with this? this is so not something that would even touch anything Disney or is it just me? also welcome to the site Davey i see you just joined
Thanks! I used to post on the Soap Chat board as David L. In the US, Disney owns Hulu. So I think it's a subsidiary producing it.

Overseas Disney Plus carries a lot of US Hulu programming under the "Star" service. Still makes me chuckle a bit. Here's the trailer:

I love this series, the casting is spot on.

It's a really fun 'ride' (no pun intended).

Is it true that the carpenter guy leaked the tape in revenge?

Oh I don't want to think about Bobby's penis, does he have one? I kind of always think he was like an action man and it was all bit flat down there.

Although a Pam and Bobby sex tape drama would have even fun.

I feel for Pam. This show will inform people who were too young or not even born in the 90s that there's a famous sex tape to be seen. More people will search for it and watch. As if round one wasn't horrible enough for her.

The show will probably be very nice and inform the viewers what really happened. That it was a huge violation of privacy. But... people will want to watch the real sex tape. Another round of violation.

Another round of violation.
I believe this is why she has kept her sons out of the public eye as much as possible and I commend her for that. Here in Australia since the release of that sex tape and when Pam went on to have children there has been commentary from some when Pam's boys get old enough to go looking for things. It's a cheap laugh at the expense of someone else's misery and I for one don't appreciate it.

I know Pam has grown up since then and I don’t think a mistake made that long ago should haunt them the rest of their lives but I feel something should be said for not making the sex tape in the first place. That never seems to end well for celebrities.

I think all should have a right to tape themselves and not have the material stolen from your property. Lord knows there are pictures on my phone that I don't want the entire world to see. I trust them to be safe on my phone. (They're not nudes, rather photos where I look weird but don't want to delete for different reasons.)

This continues to be a great drama, the acting is superb.

I was only aware of the tape back when it happened, I had no interest in that or the story behind it and I think that’s making it much more fascinating and shocking to watch. I feel for PA.

I'm too young to really have known about this when it happened but I felt awful for both of them, Pam particularly since as she said, she was worse affected being a woman.
I didn't really vibe with the style of the show, it was perhaps a little too on the silly side (that's the wrong word, but I can't think of a better one) than I would've chosen but I do think it probably fit the media hype surrounding the couple.
It feels really easy to categorise the two by their celebrity personalities but the show did a good job at showing they are humans.
As for the tape existing, it wasn't a deliberate act to film to begin with, and once it was filmed they set it in a private safe. The fact that it then came into the wrong hands is really not down to their behaviour, that feels too much like victim blaming to me.

I started this tonight and, 3 episodes in, I must say that I´m rooting for the carpenter (am I a horrible person?). Maybe it´s because I love losers who find their opportunity... Though both leads are excellent, I can´t believe they didn´t take somebody with more resemblance to PA than "Cinderella´s" Lily James. She has been added everything but a nose (I think). Why does everybody has to be blind-cast and depend on the makeup people, like Jessica Chastain in her Oscar-winning role? Isn´t that a type of discrimination? So blonde bimbos can´t have a chance at acting eg? But seemingly to play a non-white role, the actor must be of the exact ethnicity of their role? I don´t get it.

So far, it´s like a Ryan Murphy-style miniseries targeted to straight audiences instead of gay people. Not that it has to be a bad thing. I guess. Oh well...

Oh and again, Da Pig thinks she´s been pigscriminated because
she thinks she looks more like PA... She even auditioned for her...
