I didn't see this one coming. Panda Express is being sued by a former employee who attended a "self improvement" seminar (costing her several hundred dollars in fees) after being told by a supervisor that it was required if she wanted to move into a management position. She alleges the "trust building exercises" required that they strip down to their underwear, bare their darkest secrets and deepest fears and "hug it out" with other team members. The training was run by a company called "Alive Seminars and Coaching Academy"; Panda Express says it has no ties to that company but the attendees of this particular seminar were exclusively Panda Express employees. Attendees were handed literature featuring the Panda Express logo and were required to provide their employee ID numbers.

Sounds like Panda Express wants to pick up where Keith Raniere and NXIVM left off.

Seems like a lot to go through just to serve some takeout

I mean...

I'm not blaming the victim here...

But...

I mean if my company sent me to a conference or training session and they told me to strip and "hug it out," I'm pretty sure I'd break the land speed record getting out of there.

You don't know what financial pressures she was under outside of work though. I understand what your saying but if she's got kids to feed she might be inclined to go along with for that sake. Whether any crimes been committed here is another matter.

Wasn't there a big thing about this in acting circles with a similar sort of group therapy involving sex, if I remember rightly William Roache is involved in it.
