I bought Priscilla's bio
The Presleys remind me a little of the Kennedys
A lot of heartache but sadly much of it self inflicted by different members of her family.
I still find it hard to believe that PP is now in her 80s. She is still Jenna Wade circa 1983 in my eyes and was very beautiful
Time moves along -- for all of us. And the older we get, the faster it goes.
And DALLAS, let's face it, was forty, forty-five years ago.
But Victoria (contrary to public relations efforts, including one interview she did here so it could be linked as a 'source' for Wikipedia and IMDb) will herself be 80 on January 3rd. (She's few months younger than Priscilla -- Presley, not Pointer -- as opposed to "four and a half years").
One gasps at that, as do I --- until I look at my own birth certificate, transcribed on crumpled parchment and goose ink.

Completely agree. Priscilla's priority as the mother of a 9 year old who just lost her daddy should have been grief counseling for her child, but instead she was more concerned with finding her next boyfriend. And then when Lisa told her that the boyfriend was abusing her, she didn't believe her and shipped her off to boarding school because she didn't want to deal with her. It's no surprise that Lisa went off the rails, she couldn't trust her mother. And I think that led to Lisa's unhealthy over attachment and dependence on Ben and him just not being able to cope with it. My sense is that things would have turned out very differently for both Lisa and Ben had Elvis lived into Lisa's adulthood, and that Elvis would have made Lisa his priority had Priscilla been the one who died when Lisa was 9.I also bought From here to the great unknown by Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough
My impression is that mother and daughter werent close and daughter went off the rails at a young age
Same goes for Lisa Maries son
Money buys you lots of things and not all good (Alcohol, drugs) and it doesnt bring happiness
shipped her off to boarding school because she didn't want to deal with her
Ray tried, in his overbearing fashion, to be a father figure, but what a teenage Charlie really needed in her life was Elvis. (or at least Naldo Marchetta)Thus beginning a trend to be repeated with another daughter in Dallas many years later.
So glad that you were able to still meet her after all. My parents and I visited Graceland just a few weeks after Priscilla opened it to the public in 1982, and the husband of Elvis's cook was our shuttle bus driver. Priscilla describes locking her childhood bedroom door in her book "Elvis and Me", which strikes me as very odd and something that only a kid who was being sexually abused would do, so I have to wonder what really went on with her stepfather or other male relatives, and how truthful she really is. Her relationship with Harper and Finley may be better than her relationship with Riley, but I doubt that she's being truthful about that either.Priscilla Presley - my connection to Elvis!
I made the trip to Edinburgh back in early October to meet Priscilla and enjoy an on stage interview with her, with Q and As from the audience.
I duly turned up at 18.00hrs as the show was due to start or so I thought this was the time to turn up and meet Priscilla. On arrival, was told its finished you should have turned up at 16.15hrs, no communication from the promoters telling me this. Sorry, she's finished. I was livid, anyway to cut a long story short short, 30 people had not had the email, so they came and found me and off I went. I was the last person to talk to her with my other half before she went on stage, she was running an hour late but never moaned about the situation, just met the fans with patience and grace.
Here I was stood, with the wife of my ultimate hero ELVIS! She asked me if I had been too Graceland I said yes twice, she chatted with me for 5 minutes, not rushing at all. I asked did she enjoy being on Dallas and she said yes, she said Linda Gray was so gracious and lovely, she also said she had rapport with Susan Howard and of course Victoria, for me she was everything I imagined, very petite.
I thanked her for keeping Elvis memory going, if not for her Graceland might have been sold...
Once on stage, she mentioned she lost her own father very young, Jack Wagner but Paul Beaulieu was a great father role model,
What I loved was she brought her son Navarone on stage and he discussed how he fell into drugs and was now clean, she mentioned losing her daughter, grandson and she has a great relationship with her grandaughters, for me she did confirm that she WAS NOT HAPPY THAT HER DAUGHTER WAS WITH MICHAEL JACKSON.
A very humble, gracious wonderful warm person thank you Priscilla.

Problem is Charley already had a father ... his name was Reynaldo. Ray attempting to ride in on his white charger wasn't going to work.Ray tried, in his overbearing fashion, to be a father figure, but what a teenage Charlie really needed in her life was Elvis. (or at least Naldo Marchetta)
