Googling somebody you knew and really liked from college and finding out they've recently died.

Of course, at my age that shouldn't be so surprising --- but it was from after a long battle with AIDS, so it's still killing people in the west.

BTW: it's funny how many guys' guys have shirtless photos for their main FB pic.

I think everyone ON EARTH knows about D+ by now, guys---beating me over the head just makes me want to change the channel!

You bet-- back in the old days of Game Show Network (before it became known as GSN, and started focusing more on what's on now vs. what was when it came to game shows), they showed reruns of the Wink Martindale Tic Tac Dough from the early years of that 70s version of that X and O trivia game that Wink Martindale was known for, and just before the closing credits, they would have a donut segment listing what was to come next, and I would look forward to enjoying the closing credits, fee plugs and all.

However, GSN, in their infinite wisdom, decided that we needed to know again that such shows were up next, so they blocked out the closing music (albeit we could still see the visuals of the closing credits) and told us again, "Such-and-such-a-show is next on GSN" (or words to that effect), as if we didn't already know.

From there, it just got much, much worse-- as soon as one host said goodbye, down went the screen into a credit crunch, and then we were bombarded with ads for shows of now that, for one, I never did care about (like Bingo America, which was, IMO, one of the dumbest of the 2000s); it's been that way ever since.

Here's an example, from a rerun of a 1979 second-season episode of Tic Tac Dough (skip to the 21:01 or 21:02 mark, and you'll see what I mean):

I like peanut butter and mayo sandwiches -- now without the bread since I'm keeping my carbs down. So today I take two spoons -- one Table spoon to scoop the peanut butter and one teaspoon to scoop the mayo and smear it across the peanut butter.

Then I eat it up --- yum!

To be fair, when I was a teenager, I thought mayonnaise was gross, too. Likewise, I used to think I hated gin because gin & tonic made me wretch; turns out the culprit was the tonic.

But I also like fries with mustard.

I like mine w/spicy brown mustard (in fact, when my mother and I get chicken fingers from Zaxby's, I get the 5 piece meal w/fries, and both the chicken fingers and the fries go in the spicy brown mustard).

I’ve honestly never heard of having fries with mustard before. I have to give this a try.

I think you should-- I used to like yellow mustard for everything, but now spicy brown is the order of the day.
