Rating System Update and Information

Hi everyone,

Just an update from The Moderation Team with information regarding the rating system.

You will be used to clicking below posts to give a 'like' here, maybe a 'dislike' there, or perhaps spreading some 'love' amongst each other. While we no longer have the old rating system, we present to you the more superior reactions, and there will be options to add new reactions later when we have experimented a little more in @Ome 's laboratory.

The new reactions are measured by points and not quantity as the old ratings worked. When you read a post where you want to hit agree, like, thanks or winning at the same time, we have that covered this in the scoring system.

The not-so-fun-part (brief lecture coming up) is that we will put measures into place if anyone abuses the system, but we accept that we are all adults here and we will behave as adults (hopefully).

The reactions and their points value are listed below:


Like = 1 point
Winning = 3 points
Haha = 2 points
Wow = 1 point
Sad = 1 point
Thanks = 1 point

I found that out last night too when I tried to use it. I just couldn't master the art of hovering over the function with my finger.

I just did it. It's a bit tricky and I "Liked" Willie's post at first.

I found if I press and hold "Like" (instead of tapping) the Reaction Smilies pop up and I can then take my finger off the screen to tap on the Reaction I want.

No, it's not you. I can add reactions, but not the icons just yet. Though I somehow managed to use a quarter of another icon for the 'agree' reaction.

I'm now hanging on for our last upgrade (when it's ready) before trying anything else, but I do plan on creating one for information.

Oh - I wondered what it was meant to be, now I can just about work it out from the "eye".

It reminds me of that elusive "History" wedge from Trivial Pursuit.
