I’m sure there are others but in my season 13 rewatch Claudia may or may not have faked a suicide attempt. They just did this a couple seasons ago with Anne. Did they forget?

What other stories are recycled? There’s almost always a kidnapping, child running away, someone running away to work as a waitress or mechanic or something.

In Abby's final season, they seemed to want to take a trip down memory lane. Her creation of the Murakame Corporation (in an effort to secretly take over the Lotus Point property) was seemingly an homage to Apolune Corporation, a company she created to secretly take over the Lotus Point property). And as I said in another thread recently, they revisited the plot again when Abby was revealed as the force behind the attempted takeover of the Sumner Group. In all three cases she has a co-conspirator or two (Jim Westmont, Mark St. Claire, Ted Melcher, Rick Hawkins, Nigel Treadwell) who helps grease the skids and in some cases kill a few people. There is also that whole concept that Abby surrounded herself with all these criminals who mostly ended up dead but managed to escape the consequences of her actions almost entirely.

Karen fearing that first Sid and later Mack is having an affair and her response in both cases is to invite her potential rival to dinner.

Gary impetuously getting involved in something that results in people losing 1) their jobs (stolen parts, record company, Lotus Point, Tidal Energy), 2) their marriages or relationships (methanol, Empire Valley, Tidal Energy), or their lives (stolen parts, record company, Empire Valley).

Lilimae going batshit crazy after she brings a young, hot man into their lives (Chip, Joshua), resulting in manipulation, abuse, or murder.

Fakes a suicide like Anne a couple years ago. She’s staying with Karen and Mack for a couple of days. They have her mail forwarded to their house. She lives in the same cul-de-sac. WTF?

Also good to see “Chozen” from Cobra Kai in this same episode (“Business with Pleasure”)

Tired writing after umpteen seasons....Or writers that never read series synopsises. They also shared multiple story lines throughout the years with Dynasty: I was half expecting Karen to be abducted by Aliens. Can you even flippin' imagine her trying to explain THAT to Mack? You can see him shaking his head going, "Karen, Karen, KAREN!" LMAO

Of course....why didn't I think of this sooner?

Right after Laura drove away, she ended up being abducted by aliens. They cured her "incurable" brain tumor while in transit to their home planet of Sarcasmia, where they planned to make her their Queen. Unfortunately she had to decline their offer once she realized all the men on Sarcasmia were about four feet tall, had inferiority complexes and were endlessly self-pitying and passive aggressive. If she'd wanted that she could have stayed married to Richard on Earth!

The Brian Johnston hostage situation. There was a hostage situation in the cul de sac involving all the families in the first or second season. There had to be another one along the way. There was the one at Southfork in season one of Dallas. Walker in the season 9 debacle of Falcon Crest.

In that particular case, the writers simply didn't know. The writers who were put in charge at the start of Season 13 were largely unaware of all the plotlines on the show, and only watched the last 10 episodes of Season 12 as a reference point.
