Does Steven have an AVM or some other serious - potentially fatal - illness? I was trying to figure out why he would file for divorce and was reminded of Krystle divorcing Blake so she wouldn't be a "burden" to him; is Steven doing the same thing?

I still don't understand what we are supposed to think of nu-nu-Cristal. Is she a gold-digger, an angel who can be bitchy when required or just an ambiguous woman ?
People complained about the fact that Celia/Cristal was not as likeable as Krystle but she was WAY better than her replacement.

I had forgotten that bit of dialogue. Indeed, Steven claimed he had filed for divorce, but insisted he did not really want a divorce and urged Sam to forget it. I assumed it was an attempt to make the viewer believe Steven had relapsed into drug use and had filed for divorce during one of his benders. Seeing him in what appeared to be the US (I thought New York City, but it could have been any large US city) during that phone call also leads the viewer to think he's not doing what people assumed he was doing, since he's not been where everyone thought he was.

I understand the writers wanting to play their cards close to the vest, but they've gone too far (once again) in making her seem so completely inscrutable. Even if they want to keep her true motives and plans secret from the other characters, they need to give the viewer some kind of sign as to whether she's above-board or if she's a gold-digger (or something in between). She's been too non-descript for too long, and people need to know whether she is worth an investment of their loyalties. I understand their reluctance to reveal too much too soon, since it hurt OriginalCristal's lifespan when they spent so much time on her past...but the woman is already engaged to Blake and carrying his (hopefully his) baby.

I'm wondering if Steven has hooked back up with Ted Dinard. I can't remember exactly what happened to Ted, but didn't he end up in hospital.

DAPHNE ZUNIGA!!!!
This is why NuBlake is so obsessed with women called Cristal:
her first and only love pre-NuAlexis had that name and they
share a past by the pool in California...

I was one of those people critical of Cristal/Celia but that was about the character, not the actress. Towards the end of season 1 I began to warm to her especially when she reached out to Michael's family - there was genuine warmth on display. Others will argue the actress chosen was just wrong but at least I reacted to the character, rightly or wrongly.

Enter Cristal 2.0 and I'm not getting anything from her. I feel nothing. There is just a blandness to her and that's worse.
