Here's the thing with nuAlexis:

If she had been a copy of oldAlexis it would've been wah wah waaah!

So they're doing nuAlexis with some Nicolette flava. Ride with it or, uh, die, I guess.

It was almost like an homage to Claudia's death in original Dynasty they way Cristal died in the fire, had no funeral, and then it's almost like she never existed. She was erased too quickly and completely for my liking. Unless she's not dead at all...

I think that on both cases, the actress pissed off then producers and they wanted them dead, gone, and NO mention of them at all....

I think Kelley's "Cristal" is beyond dead.....

I think from now on, we should refer to Kelley's "Cristal" as "Celia" to keep things from getting confusing. But either way, yeah, once again, DYNASTY's history is repeating itself. However, Celia has been mentioned, and there's a good chance she'll continue to be mentioned whenever it's necessary, unlike Claudia. Blake as the grieving widower will have to mention her, Sam as the grieving nephew will talk about her, and I can see Alexis making a few snarky comments about her to Cristal ("It only took her a few months to become a monster. How soon will you become one?").

I agree about using "Celia". Typing Celia-Cristal became a pain after a while. I couldn't even do "CC" for obvious reasons, and "Criselia" was kind of bizarre.

You can often glean some of the behind-the-scenes issues from how producers treat the "departed" on soaps. If they kill off a character and then sanctify their memory, it's usually a sign they didn't want the actor to leave. If the characters forget the character ever existed five minutes after it is gone, it's usually a sign the writers were miffed that the actor left, but if they go out of their way to assassinate the character, post-mortem (that is, undo all the good things the character did, or spend time turning the audience against the character in its absence) then you can be sure someone BTS was very pissed.

Now that Blake has returned from his trip (ostensibly the tour of the "shit-hole countries" that Celia had suggested Blake make in order to help rebuild Carrington-Atlantic's reputation), he might deal with Celia's will/estate. There's nothing quite like opening probate to bring everyone running. And of course Cristal Jennings will see her credit report suddenly blow up like a C-A windmill.

I think Nicollette was the right actress it’s just that the writing is awful and the direction they took with the character is awful. Had the role been more faithful to the original version of Alexis then Nicollette could have been wonderful.

Things can still change. Its still early in the series.

There were some details about nuAlexis that make her look as a trashy and over the top character: the dog named Crystal, trailer house, Hank and his finger sacrifice and so on.
Maybe these are small things but they create the picture of her as something original Alexis didn't become until season 6 maybe. They let her be cartoonish too soon.
I liked her interaction with the Colbys and the flashbacks. In these scenes she seemed to be closest to the original. In her scenes with Carringtons she plays a role of poor freaky family member.

It was soooo frustrating for me. I didn't want to start the new season until I finished my Netflix season one rewatch. So I just now finally got around to watching the season premiere. It was great to get to hear Elizabeth Gillies's amazing vocals. She was amazing on Nickelodeon's Victorious series with Ariana Grande and Victoria Justice. I realize that singing probably isn't a big part of Fallon's character, so getting to hear her sing is a real treat for me.
