I’ve always associated a season or two seasons with a particular past era when it comes to Dynasty.
Seasons 1-2 (and part’s of season 3 too but on a less impressive scale) gave off a 1920s vibe.
Season 4 will always be a 1940s noir, while seasons 6B, 7A and The Colby’s had a camp 1960s melodramatic vibe
Season 9 was decidedly harking back to the 1970s.
So Season 5 for me is when they should have gone all 1950s, especially since they had one of the biggest star’s of the 50s guest starring that season in the form of Rock Hudson.
Jeff should have gone all James Stewart from Vertigo, and tried to make Amanda into another Fallon, this goes on for about 6 or 7 episodes after Fallon’s “funeral”
Imagine Amanda walking through La Mirage wearing Fallon’s iconic red dress with this playing in the background:
All the while all Jeff sees is Fallon walking toward him and not Amanda and the whole family and those in La Mirage looking horrified at the scene in front of them with Blake saying his usually catchphrase “What the Devil….”
