Emmerdale Should Emmerdale go back to being Emmerdale Farm?

Families do change from time to time... Certainly in the 31 years since that wedding photo was taken.

Take Coronation Street for instance... Ken is the only remaining member of the original Barlow clan in 2020.

And, of course, when people marry, they gain other relatives (albeit, not blood). Victoria married Adam Barton, in the photo above, Joe married Kate Hughes, which linked them to the Hughes. The family was also became to the Bates family in 1988 when Jack Sugden's son Jackie Merrick married Kathy Bates.

But that was over 32 years ago now, and things that happened then don't necessarily have any relevance to what's happening in 2020.

So, basically, the big question is... Should Emmerdale add 4 letters back into it's title after nearly 31 years? :D
No it has gone past that, leave it as it is. You can't go back.

So has everything else in the world. Fashions change, technology changes, people come, people go... Why should soaps, which reflect the changing worlds we live in, be any different?

So no onscreen funeral or burial for Annie I see? disappointed in that as it could have been nice to see the remaining Sugden relatives gather round for one last time considering she was the first matriarch

Frederick Pyne (Matt Skilbeck) told me on Facebook that before Sheila Mercier died she stated that she didn't want a real life funeral after she's gone, so the producers took that into account, and, out of respect, held her fictional funeral off-screen.

She was remembered though, and that's the main thing.

For the record, Ena Sharples, Annie Walker, etc... never had on-screen funerals in Coronation Street either

My favourite photo of the clan, The Sugden, Merrick, Skilbeck, Hughes and Bates altogether in one photo taken at Kate & Joe’s wedding in 1989

I really hope that Sandie, The Skilbeck clan and Kathy come back for Annie’s funeral and I hope that the Sugden clan can be restored to its former glory, rather than being a branch off the Blackstock/Lambert family
Joe said there was a Sugden curse and I believe him Peggy,Sandie;s twins,Rachel,Mark,Jackie,Jack,Pat,Sarah,Kate and finally Joe all dead Annie too but she was 100.

I remember people saying that when Clive Hornby died (Jack Sugden) the show should have ended because it was so different from when it first started.

What soap is the same though now as when it first started? I'm sure Clive wouldn't have wanted a show he spent 28 consecutive years of his life in to come to an end, and the fact that he was in the show up until a few months before he died in 2008 shows that he accepted the fact that the show moved on to reflect life in a Yorkshire village in the 21st Century.

Now, of course, the show is tackling the real world problems associated with the pandemic, and quite rightly too.
I still miss Jack a flawed character but a Farmer through and through.

Would have been nice to see Matt and Dolly back and their grown up Son.
