I thought it might be nice to have a thread where people can share interesting interviews with their favourite stars. I just watched a couple where Natalie Portman and Jodie Foster talk about their career timeline which I thought were pretty enjoyable, so here they are:

And it shocks me that his friends didn't think he could play Mr. Darcy in Pride & Prejudice (1995) because they didn't think he was sexy enough to play Mr. Darcy. Boy, were they wrong!!!!

Elizabeth Taylor was almost always hysterical in her interviews. The one cracks me up; "I can't understand why."

I just love her. I could watch her be interviewed all day. She's so intelligent and funny, and is able to have a sense of humour about times in her life which were pretty terrible. She had such a great sense of who she was, always and didn't let that be changed despite all the superficial studio demands.

This is a real treat. I just watched the first part, there are two separate days she was interviewed. Katherine Hepburn with Dick Cavett. It's a long and fascinating look at her life.

Tonight I just watched the ending of "Sharped Objects" (endlessly eerie, wisely creepy) and it came to my mind what a wonderful actress Patricia Clarkson is. She is a cult actor in Spain for our movie directors, who hired her often, and she is so different (but equally fantastic) in whatever role she takes. Here is an interview with her from last year:

Voilà a compilation of Faye Dunaway interviews where she talks about Joan Crawford. Notice how she looks more and more like Joannie...up until the last one, when she just doesn´t look like none of them, neither Joan, nor herself! Poor, poor Faye!

Voilà a very recent interview with Jessica Lange, one of my favorite stars. She talks about her whole career, including which American Horror seasons she considers the best ones. Gotta love her! (The interviewers are a bit meh, but you can´t have it all...)

Recently I have been a bit obsessed with interviews with Debbie Reynolds. She was probably the last of that great golden age still kicking and still touring and working. I know Olivia de Havilland is still around but not in the same way Debbie was. From the interviews that I have seen that have mostly been in the last ten or so years before her death she comes across as such a lovely woman. Very funny, honest, and a very true, and good person.
I've always been obsessed with old Hollywood and Debbie is someone I have always been aware of. Mostly due the Elizabeth Taylor and Eddie Fisher scandal but I never really saw much of her acting, outside of singing in the rain and then her stint on Will & Grace many years later. I think that's about to change. I just ordered her book, Unsinkable, too.
