Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, the former “It-girl” and television presenter, has died at the age of 45.

The socialite had been diagnosed with a brain tumour last year and was found dead at her London home on Wednesday.

A police spokesman reportedly said: “Police were called by London ambulance service at approximately 13:40 on Wednesday, 8 February to an address in Bramham Gardens, SW5.

“A woman, aged in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed. The death is being treated as unexplained. At this early stage, police are not treating the death as suspicious.

“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. The coroner has been informed.”

I had read a few months ago in some magazine that she had been suffering from an illness. I think maybe some sort of autoimmune disease that caused a problem with her brain and made her lose a lot of weight. People thought she was on cocaine again and she had to release a statement or something. I think she also lost her hair, maybe only partially. I thought that was quite sad at the time and remember thinking, one day you are fine... the next you are not. Weird she's dead now. I kind of liked her and thought she was fun.

She was just one of those rich socialite party girls. Though when she was on TV speaking she always seemed a lot more interesting and funny than most of those girls.

I saw so many different celebrities mention how saddened they were by her death, everyone from pop stars to actors to TV presenters.
I saw Holly Willoughby say the first time she met Tara that she couldn't help look at her huge diamond ring. Holly stopped her mid conversation and told her that the ring was beautiful, Tara took it off, told her it was Chanel and gave it to her. They had only just met! Holly said she couldn't take it and Tara told her she would throw it across the restaurant if she didn't take it.
