3. Amanda of Moldavia - Dynasty. This is another classic princess gown fit for, well, a princess! It's so stunning and I read somewhere that the tiara she wore was worn by Claudette Colbert in some 1930s film. The dress is kinda princess Diana too which just adds to all that fairytale wonderfulness.

4. Krystle Carrington - Dynasty. I love this wedding ensemble that Krystle wears. A suit, not a gown, but with a long skirt. It's perfect and fits her age. The suit is simple and elegant and classic, like Krystle's essentially always been. However it's been embroidered and embellished and made to shine and sparkle. To reflect her entrance into this glittering new life. (Also have to give props to Fallon's monochrome look, perhaps my favourite Fallon outfit from the show, trumping even her red beaded opening credits gown)

5. Alexis Colby - Dynasty. Everything about this is just tacky as all get out! From the too muchness of the ruffled neckline, that weird length puffy skirt, the net puff sleeves, the tackiest nastiest veil ever seen! Something that looks like it should bag oranges in a supermarket! The white tights, the topknot updo she did in 14 seconds with a bobby pin she had to hold in her teeth in the hospital ladies room. The purple eyeshadow right up to the eyebrow! The bouquet she clearly stole from the hospital chapel of rest! Snatched right off a coffin! Then Cecil opens that box and presents his lightly used bride with the gaudiest knuckle duster of a ring ever known to humanity. Something never seen on Alexis again. Once she's actually Mrs Colby she has a ring forged from the iceberg that sunk the Titanic. The Bride that taste forgot....

And as for my exclusion of soaps not from the Dynasty universe. Well, I don't like driveway weddings, shotgun weddings or off the rack weddings. But, first and foremost I don't like weddings without Nolan Miller.

I don't like weddings without Nolan Miller.

You would not say that if you saw how Nolan Miller could ransack a buffet table. And man, could he toss back the booze. Worst of all, the gift he brought still had the Dollar General price tag attached.

4. Amanda Carrington. Nice dress shame it got blood stained. DYNASTY

5. Vicky Gioberti. The simplicity of this dress and the flowers in her hair was a top look. FALCON CREST

1. Cathy Geary, Knots Landing. Yeah, it's not exactly virginal, but then...neither was the bride.

2. Paige in her aborted wedding to Tom Ryan, KL. A beautiful bride, a slimy groom....

3. Val in her wedding to Ben, KL. I loved her hair and that poofy thing in the back. She also observed the "earrings or necklace, but not both" rule.

4. Dana's wedding to Adam, Dynasty. Straight out of a bride magazine....

5. Alexis and Cecil, Dynasty. Because...Emily Post never gave advice on what to wear to a deathbed wedding.

Honorable mention goes to the stunning dress KL's Laura Avery wore to her wedding to Greg Sumner. Wait...you didn't see it? Neither did any of us, those cheap b@st@rds.

I´m going to try the most original, unusual brides in SoapLand...Let´s see if I get it!

1- PamBecca marries John Ross at SF, TNT Dallas (S. 3). Maybe because they cheated us the wedding itself, maybe because it was the first (and only) wedding that happened twice in this revamping, I chose the beautiful bride that made ultra-gorgeous Julie Gonzalo. Sure mum-in-law Pammy (who is in SoapHeaven) would have loved the gown...

I just couldn´t pick up any other pic. This meme
(or whatever you call it) is too good to be missed!
2- Sue Ellen marrying JR by first time, Dallas (just a photo!). It´s obviously a "Mad Men"-style wedding that speaks volumes of their future relationship given the context we were given of that Ewing era (Patricia scheming and child Kristin taking up notes, baby Lucy maybe crying out loudly in the wedding, JR happy he could handle the "Lee Ann Nelson" affaire, and so on...). It doesn't matter that her dress looks like made of Miss Ellie´s old curtains...(and I´m sure Sue Ellen eventually got drunk when he caught him with Marilee or someone else...)

Say "cheeeaaaaat"!
3- The Abster agrees to marry Yo! just for business, Knots Landing (S. 10). Somehow I think this should have worked out in the long term, if Ms. Mills just hadn´t left the show. For the occasion, and maybe just to piss that Matheson slut off, Abby chose the most fantabulous gown available in the catalog (maybe a Travilla leftover?). In this spectacular pic below, you can see the whole storyline in one frame, which is something only the best soaps could do. Look at Greggie´s face! Look at that pink panther gown Paige is wearing...And very especially, look at the Abster! The eyes had it, more than ever!!

By the way, they also stole this wedding´s vows from us!!
4- Emma (tries to) marry The Great Karlotti, Falcon Crest (S. 6). She never looked more beautiful than in this classic wedding gown. Too bad it wasn´t the right guy (this time either...). But she got closer and closer to become a married woman, and this was a step in the right direction. If just the 300 other wives of Karlotti had just skipped the ceremony, maybe they had stayed together until the end of the series...Poor, poor Emma. And all this in front of her adopted black child, who was all heart when he said: "I hope he dies" (re Karlotti). Utterly memorable.

"Oh mother..." Genius.
5- Alexis married Sean Rowan (Anders) in some postcard island, Dynasty (S. 8). Well, I couldn´t leave the most bombastic show out of this, so here is one of Alexis´s weddings that will probably get fewer votes: here is Ms. Collins in all her glamorous simplicity and candor, as if this were her first (*cough*) wedding. I wonder if she followed the tradition of "something new (Sean), something old (herself), something blue (his thong?) and something borrowed (I´d say his shirt belonged to a Mariachi...). Wonderfully tacky overall.

I also like the way she's done her hair, it makes her look very cool and icy, like a Black Widow bride.

Agree. As if she is doing it all to show the world who is the master (she is!). Imagine if she had stayed on all the way, every season colder and icier...Hmm, possibilities...And no Claudia, Linda, Vanessa, or any other wishy-washy pseudo-beech.

3. Valene - her wedding to Ben (Knots Landing)
4. Melissa - first wedding (Falcon Crest)
