When should the Colby family be introduced and how would you recast them

Should they bring in Zach powers?

Would Cecil have Fallon choose between Miles, or Jeff?

That's a tough one. I once heard an idea that the characters of Jason and Cecil be combined, and having them be "next door neighbors" to the Carringtons, so to speak. I'd be tempted to get rid of Bliss' character altogether, if it weren't for the fact that she too had her potential. Plus it would be a different actress playing her as well.

But as for casting...

For a while now, I've become fond of the notion of Marcia Cross playing Sable, with Kristin Davis as Francesca. Both women were on the original MELROSE PLACE, and each ended up on different-yet-similar shows: DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and SEX AND THE CITY, each of which featured a group of four women. Both series were successful, and it would be interesting seeing these two working together again.



Not only that, but one of my top choices for Cecil is Kyle MacLachlan, who was not only on both DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and SEX IN THE CITY, but was also a love interest to both Cross' and Davis' characters. If they didn't combine Jason and Cecil's characters, it would be kind've funny seeing both women now battling over Orson's/Trey's brother. lol



Also, whenever I think of possible candidates for Miles, I always think of Trevor Donovan, who starred in the new 90210. Although he's in his 30s, so he could be way too old for the part, though he might still be able to pass for mid 20s, since I believe that was supposed to be Miles' age anyway.

Oh yes, and Annalynne Mccord (she was on 90210 as well - AND she was on the new DALLAS, though I only saw her in one scene on youtube) as Monica. But I think I'd only have her if they combined the characters of Monica and Bliss. Maybe.



The last photo shows she can look 'Dynasty-ish', I think. X)

I think there's something fascinating about soap characters not being raised by their parents: Jeff Colby, Lucy Ewing, Richard Channing.
Therefore I'd like to keep the Cecil/Jeff combo. I don't think there will be a spin-off series but it's possible to include Jason/Sable/Miles at a later time.
And Caress, of course.

Oh, here's a possible candidate for Jason: James Remar (I know him only from "Sex and the City", but he played a chronic heater ). There's a resemblance between him and Charlton Hesten.

Oh, and here's a possible candidate for Constance: Judith Light. I loved her on UGLY BETTY. Plus her casting would explain where Miles and Monica/Bliss get their blonde hair. lol



And here's my choice for Jeff: Chace Crawford. His character on GossipGirl, Nate, reminded me strongly of Jeff. Plus Crawford's latest show, BLOOD & OIL, is, as the critics put it, "all dried up", so he's at least available.



We can't forget about Philip: Jason Lewis. He was on Sex and the City too, he played Smith.

I looked up Mexican actors for a possible Zach Powers (just cuz Montalban himself was Mexican), and discovered 43-year-old David Zepeda. I have no idea if he's any good at acting (though he's been working since 1999, so that's gotta count for something) or if he can even speak English, but still, a Zach Powers that looks like this:



At least then we can understand why Sable would tempted. lol

Also, on the same list of Mexican actors, I discovered somebody who could play Zach's nephew, Aaron Diaz:



"Run away with me, Bliss. Or Monica. Whichever one you are." lol

I don't know. I'd prefer Ron Perlman. Jason should still have some ape-like face.
