Yes, Darren Gray who you mention is the guy who set up and ran TYD Appreciation Society in the 1980s.

As for the master tapes, I'm guessing that these will have been sourced from the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia ( NFSA). My understanding is that so far they have only digitised the first 250 spisodes.

I'm wondering if further episodes would need to go through the (possibly lengthy) process of being digitised before they could be released.

Finally, we can also add Brian Moll (Vincent Snape) and James Condon (Sir Thomas Kendall) to that extensive list of cast members in the colllection one boxset who have died since the serial ended.

One thing I've noticed about the DVDs which is a bit odd is that the copyright at the end of the credits is stuck on 1976 for episodes filmed and originally broadcast in 1977.

Just out of interest are any of the cast of Return To Eden in The Young Doctors.

If so, I may just try and get myself a copy of it. :)

I finished watching episode 250 yesterday which concludes the volume 1 boxset.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself rewatching this magical series - my first time viewing it properly since it last aired on Granada TV in the early 1990s

In terms of the storylines, I didn’t remember very much of it at all from when it was originally broadcast.

Also, for all the criticisms levelled at the series, I think that the standard of acting has stood up remarkably well over time.

As is the case with any decent soap opera, this boxset has left me hungry and wanting to see more.

Here’s hoping that some further episodes will be released some day soon.
