In between tidying cupboards and changing beds, I sat down to some old Corrie and it was perfect! Long live Blanche and her put downs

Id walk over hot coals for Paul O Grady - priceless

Hard to believe Corrie is 60 this year! My grandmother was 13 when it first aired and she’s 73 in May.

She watched it avidly throughout the 60s but she recalls everyone remarking that by 1966-68 Corrie was representing British working class life as it was in the 1940s/1950s and not as it was in the mid to late 60s, she stopped watching by 1970ish and started again in the mid 1980s then stopped completely by 2014.

Elsie Tanner; oft imitated but never matched, Carla comes close very close.

Jenny I can see being the new Rita in years to come, she’s a great character, one of the few characters who can be funny and tragic and daft at the same time

For me he was the best Corrie baddie, never thought Mr Hopwood from Grange hill would turn out like this! The 2 parter with Gail and Richard at the end is some of the best acting out there

Those were the good old Corrie days ......................x
