Professor Lichtman, a.k.a. Prediction Professor, who accurately predicted the outcome of every presidential election since 1984 and most recently claimed Trump would win the 2016 election and continued to do so throughout the fall even when the polls suggested otherwise, now claims Donald Trump will likely be impeached and gives 2 reasons:

a) Trump's alleged illegal ways of conducting business, and
b) the GOP being more than happy to get rid of him at the right moment and replace him with Pence

The Republicans quickly began to distance themselves from Trump when the genitals-grabbing scandal hit and they thought he would lose big (and they all did no matter what that ugly hag Conway says).

They've changed their tune after he managed to deliver, but there is no reason to believe that evil Jesus freak Pence or that limp fence-sitter Ryan wouldn't use their first opportunity to stab Don the Con in the back.

I actually hope Trump isn't impeached (or assassinated) because, as UnPrincipaled said, Pence would be far worse. If he is impeached, the Republicans will almost certainly be the driving force behind it. That way, they can finally get the guy they really wanted in the first place.

Trump is impeachment bait if I've ever seen it. Lucky for him, the Republicans would need at least 15 Democrats in the Senate to vote to remove him from office, which is highly debatable they would do, knowing Pence is waiting in the wings. So I would say the Republicans are most likely stuck with the monster they created. At least until the next election rolls around.

Yes, it's better if he stays put all 4 years, so he makes as much damage to the GOP as possible. That evil son of a bitch Pence taking over would be much worse.

Of course, if Trump becomes unbearable and they don't want to publicly disown him, the Republicans could have him assassinated and blame it on a liberal loon. Getting rid of Trump while re-energizing their Deplorables in outrage - two birds with one stone.
