Which soap has been the best of 2017?

A tough call, i know which soaps it wasn't and that was Hollyoaks and Coronation Street.

It was a close call but i went for Emmerdale for being Consistantly good.

Despite a few awful characters portrayed by weak actors, my vote goes to Corrie. It's been one of my favourite years on the cobbles this decade.

Some of my highlights have been Bethany's grooming story, David & Shona, the return of Peter and Toyah, the introduction of Daniel Barlow with a great (but brief) return for Denise Osbourne. Then throw in Phelan and Andy's story, the great humour from Gemma, Mary, Norris, Rosie and Eva. All the stuff with Sally & Tim topped off with the beautiful partnership between Rita & Gemma.

I'm going to go with Emmerdale, only because its been the best of the worst, its picked up over the last few months since Emma died.

Hollyoaks has also been good, but Corrie & EE have been snooze fests, only Bethany Platt's grooming storyline has been Corrie's saving grace.

I don't watch any of the UK Soaps regularly anymore although I do dip into "The Big Three": Corrie, 'Enders and Emmerdale from time to time. I think Emmerdale has been head and shoulders above the other 2 this year. Ashley's dementia storyline and the character's ultimate death was so well done and probably the best storyline of any the UK soaps this year. Then there was Rhona's rape, Pete and Leyla's non-Wedding, Finn's shock death and who killed Emma Barton, all great storylines which I don't think was bettered by anything in the other soaps.

I just can't get into Emmerdale. There is something a bit hollow about it that I struggle with.

I used to enjoy when it was a bit larger than life with Kim Tate. Although it has some good storylines I just find the chacaters a bit blah.
