What about Meredith?

Meredith was an OK character (not bad looking), who I believe would have blended in better with the goings on of the 13 or the ninjas, during season 7. Since Michael needed a nanny we got her a year earlier. Jane gelled well together with the Jane who had to be obeyed and her main co-star David Selby.

Meredith Braxton meets Angela, in a park. Progress is expected on Richard but Meredith says, (a scene from season 6, 1986-’87):

“Life has two choices Mrs. Channing. Slow seduction or a quick strike. I’m doing what I do best!”

Angela: “Well, you’re quite a philosopher Miss. Braxton.”

Meredith: “You’re quite something yourself Mrs. Channing.”

Angela: “Don’t you ever forget it!”

I also loved Jane Badler on FC, especially because she didn´t overstay her welcome. Though the original story with Meredith and Erin being lovers instead of sisters would´ve been more fun...I only missed a bolder, more lavish look for her, but since she originally was a nanny I suppose that didn´t let much for the designer to imagine...BUT wearing something like this...would´ve made the difference:

I finished re-watching season 6 the other day and Meredith was the new character I was most looking forward to, which was probably because I had rewatched V. Jane Badler definitely had the V-Vibe in her acting, but I didn't like it. Meredith was far too superior to Angela and everything was going too easy for her. In fact, she was the opposite of Mary Poppins, so I couldn't understand Richard hiring her. I liked Meredith when I watched FC in the 80's, but this time I was glad when her run ended.

The interview with Meredith was changed.
It is a duel between two intelligent people. from you to you
Richard made a good match with intelligent and determined women Jordan, Pamela, Meredith
Richard allowed himself to be loved even though against the script he NEVER slept with Meredith.
Meredith
I prefer limitations my mother used to say that you can't do everything she did you chose business
Richard
Are you uh proposing that I retire
Meredith
Michael will inherit your Empire someday
Richard
If he so chooses

Meredith
I've never met a successful man who didn't want that for their son
Richard
I think Michael has a few years before he makes up his own mind
Meredith
By then it may be too late first 18 months of a child's life are crucial you need someone who can help you shape Michael into the kind of man that you want him to be
Richard
What kind of man do you think that might be
Meredith
A man with instincts like yours like mine

Richard
You're rather opinionated aren't you
Meredith
Mr Channing if you merely wanted a sweet pliant babysitter you would have already hired one

I feel she had to play a character with a big masterplan like trying to build a nuclear energy plant next to Falcon Crest.

Her job interview with Richard is so eighties, with all that shoulderpadded one-upmanship.

Worse was the one from the script. Meredith had married her youthful love.
The marriage could not have children and they divorced. Michael was to fill the gap of the unborn child
