Recently finished 2010 the second odyssey and Robinson Crusoe.

Prior to that I read some true crime from Joe McGinniss with Fatal Vision and Blind Faith. Both killers guilty as sin. In the same vein I recently read the Deliberate Stranger about Ted Bundy.

Romola by George Eliot

A while ago I saw a docudrama on George Eliot's life and was inspired to slowly read my way through her novels.

This one differs from most of her work, being set in renaissance Florence rather than rural England. But it does share several of the same themes, including ill-advised liaisons, the foibles of the clergy, and secrets that come back to bite.

By coincidence, I started reading this overlapping with the book on Leonardo and Michelangelo, which contained a lot of Florentine history that was useful in understanding this as well.

Total Cat Mojo by Jackson Galaxy, famed cat expert and host of My Cat From Hell on Animal Planet (easily the best of all cat books I've ever read, because Jackson really gets down to the nitty-gritty of what cats are and how we are to manage our relationships with them)

I've just finished "Black Beauty" which is about a horse that seems to understand spoken English and who is as intelligent as Einstein. I found it all a bit far fetched.

The Lifted Veil and Brother Jacob - two novellas by George Eliot

These two short stories are quite different from her novels, and from each other. The Lifted Veil is a supernatural tale that Wikipedia describes as an early example of what would later be called science fiction, while Brother Jacob is the unexpectedly comic story of a crooked confectioner.

I've just finished "Lesbian Bondage Zombie Sex Orgy" which is about the life of Mother Theresa and the fantastic selfless work she did around the world. One thing I learned from it is never judge a book by it's cover.

Today I'm Alice by Alice Jamieson

I've been fascinated by multiple personality disorder ever since seeing The Three Faces of Eve on TV many years ago. After that came Sybil and more recently Voices Within.

I've got books of all those cases, the first and third being the autobiographies of the women concerned. This one is also an autobiography, the first one if these I've read without first seeing a depiction on screen.

I just finished Sophia Loren´s watered-down memoirs (filmed for TV with Loren playing herself and her mother!), and now I´m reading Diana Gabaldon´s first volume of the "Outlander" series (I'm also following the underrated TV series which is highly recommendable for anyone who is already missing "Game of Thrones" or "Poldark"). So far I see the series is being very faithful to the books in every sense.

I finished Tana French's In the Woods, which I liked very much. It's a murder mystery set in Dublin. A colleague of mine found it slow and stopped reading it. It's very character driven, so I encouraged her to keep reading because it's worth it.
I am now on the middle of French's Broken Harbor, which I like even more.
if anyone has read In the Woods, I'd be curious to know what you thought of the ending.

I've just finished reading "Rupert Bear & The Nutwood Ku Klux Klan". It's a great read. What happens is Rupert manages to infiltrate the Klan along with Raggerty and Edward Trunk. The three of them attend Lodge meetings and even have dinner with the Grand Wizard and his wife, putting their own safety at risk. Then, in a thrilling denouement, several Klan members set fire to the Magic Faraway Tree and it is up to Rupert to round them all up, beat the shit out of them and send them packing out of Nutwood for ever. I won't say too much or I'll spoil it for the proper, hard core Rupert The Bear fans on here.
