A brilliant actress called Andreja Pejic, who I hadn't previously seen in anything. I think she is transgender even though the film was ambiguous about whether or not Amanda Lear was a transwoman.

The Da Vinci Code (2006)
I read the book some time ago and the film hews fairly close to it.
The underlying idea of Jesus having descendants was pretty controversial when mooted in the book Holy Blood, Holy Grail in the 80s but here it plays out as rather ordinary follow-the-clues treasure hunt.

i just got done watching what many consider one of the greatest films ever made i'm not not even kidding the AFI has it's on it's list. but personally for me it had a good cast, and what it really needed was a better script. and that's Don't Bother To Knock (1952) i will say that Marylin Monroe was believable as a nutcase the film felt too long and it was only 76 minutes. i watched it cause it's Anne Bancroft's 1st film and i adore her and her husband of course. i'd say avoid but i'm sure there are some on here that loved it. my rating hmm let's see 5/10. i've seen far worse and i've seen better of course, i will say that i didn't realize it was even Monroe at first when she first showed up on screen i know the film is black and white but not seeing her with Blond hair was a bit of a startle and the fact that her hair by the looks of it was her real hair color i think? it was nice to see her in a different kind of role rather than play a hoe who only cares about the old mighty dollar.
i just wish the film had been better written that's all, i was reading some of the reviews on wikipedia that were on there i think were from the film when it first came out and one reviewer wrote how the film ends with Widmark realizing who''s he's in love with by what does happen to Monroe's character was poorly written. i disgress i liked the ending actually it was a hopeful ending and it could have ended differently.

I've never heard of this film. But in similar vein, Brief Encounters is often said to be a landmark in the history of the talking pictures. I went out of my way to watch Brief Encounters....it's a hefty steaming pile of what the local bull expelled.
Ginger Snaps is a whole lot better...Ginger Snaps is some unique nonsense.

I'm currently watching The Bee Movie on Film 4 before that I watched Snoopy and Charlie Brown The Peanuts movie.

you made me think of no country for old men (2007) one of the worst movies i've ever seen in my life holy f.. was that one bad and boring. i don't hate the Cohen brothers you want a good one that i consider a masterpiece watch Barton Fink (1991) a far better and far better written film in my opinion.
yet that film is on list of being on one of the best ever f.. made my question is uh HOW? that one too my mom 2 days to watch cause it was just so bad. i'm prolly gonna get down votes on that and that's fine but that is my opinion when you i had to go online and ask someone what the hell was that ending? and what the hell happened to it's lead? cause it didn't dawn on me or occur to me what did happen that's bad writing. and that's Troll 2 (1990) bad though the acting is far worse in Troll 2 (1990) to be fair, but to be i never did watch that one all the way through No Country for old men (2007) i did suffer through

Angels & Demons (2009)
Sequel to The Da Vinci Code confusingly based on the previous novel.
The formula is much the same. These films remind me of nothing so much as a Riddler episode of the old Batman TV series - a clue at each crime scene to lead on to the next.

The Reef Stalked
Hoping to heal from a tragedy, a woman and her friends embark on a kayaking and diving adventure in tropical waters. However, the fun soon turns to terror when they find themselves fighting for their lives against a great white shark.
This was a pretty good shark movie.

Two "easy target" films.
My face was like Anna Taylor-Joy's in this picture. It didn't move, not once.
It's too broad and well trodden to call it satire, and the shock moments didn't surprise me (let alone shock) - the cook who was good-but-never-great should have stripped and pooped instead of shooting himself. It's 2023 for heaven's sake, up the ante!
I only watched the first half because I couldn't care less what would happen next or what the ending would reveal.
The only highlight was OZARK's Janet McTeer.
An easy target because it deals with the worst-case scenario: to lose a child. In this case the deaths occured because of a high school spree-killer, and the parents of one of the murdered students meet the parents of the murderer (the legal issues had already been dealt with, of course).
It is not an enjoyable film and it goes without saying that it's sad that a story like this "needs to be told", and yet I found it absolutely spellbinding to watch. There are the big moments but also lots of awkward small moments because the characters have no idea how to do this (and they shouldn't).
The performances by all four actors are frighteningly good and I'm tempted to say that it's so-brilliant-it's-awful. If that makes any sense.
I've cried a lot, especially during the last parts, and that's not a smart thing to do right before you go to bed because your eyes will look puffy in the morning.
I didn't think this was the kind of film I'd want to see again, but now, 24 hours later, I'm not sure about that anymore. It's just so very, very good.
Incidentally, actor Reed Birney stars in both films.

Inferno (2016)
Concluding the Robert Langdon trilogy.
There seems to have been some effort to make this one a little different. It's still follow-the-clues but Langdon is stymied to some extent by his own amnesia and there's some question about which are his enemies and which his allies, with nothing less than the fate of civilisation in the balance.

Kinda like binge-watching an anthology series. It's fun, with references to THE WAR OF THE ROSES and FALLING DOWN, but there's nothing that combines the mixed bag of stories so it's difficult to rate it as a "film".
The seventies-flavoured opening theme is awesome.

What on Earth possessed me to watch UNCHARTED with Tom Holland & Mark Wahlberg? I really have to stop watching movies just because there’s a cute boy in it, lol. I should’ve watched an old Rock Hudson flick if I was in the mood for lighter fare. Wohow, he just flew out of a plane. Zzzzz.

Since the story didn't interest me (it's not as energetic as the trailer suggests) all I could do was wondering if Tom Mercier's full frontal was the real thing or a prosthetic. "Thanks" to modern technology it's hard to tell the difference and that takes a lot of fun out of it.
Or perhaps that's what the Synonym was all about.
I also didn't understand why all these French people were speaking German....turns out I accidentally watched the dubbed version.
The film reminded me of BEAU TRAVAIL (1999) which is also considered a critically acclaimed masterpiece. That film features Corona's "The Rhythm Of The Night", SYNONYMS has Technotronic's "Pump Up The Jam".
But this one's new to me:

Well, since you enjoyed some schadenfreude over my "Five Corners is a 2022 period film" error, I don't feel bad that this gave me a medium sized chortle.
I'm afraid I've been put off this song for life. Some years ago it was used in an endless series of heavily-aired ghastly gynocentric commercials for British retailer Boots. I can no longer even hear it without feeling traumatised.
